"How do you read so many books??" I am simply trying to avoid reality, what are you doing
so are you gonna get therapy or are you gonna keep using books as an escape from reality this year too
Evangeline Fox from Once Upon A Broken Heart
Being a reader is fun and all,but it stops being fun when you close the book and have to go back to real life.
how it feels finishing a new book and realizing there's a whole new fandom to obsess over and read fanfics abt:
"There is nothing of equal value to me." And it's true. We know that Jacks was a selfish person, it was proven in the Caraval series, and even he admits that he is a villain. He will get anything he wanted and doesn't care if it destroys someone along the way. Therefore, when he said that there is nothing of equal value to him, it.is.the.truth, not just in a way it was 'romantic', it was a fact, the only valuable thing he had - his everything - was Evangeline, and now that she is gone, he has no one, nothing important in his life.
"Time will take something equally valuable from you." That's why he didn't lose anything (as far as we know) when he used the stone. I've seen people think that the price was Eva's memories but it was clear that Apollo took that away from her using magic, it wasn't Time taking it away. So, in the end, it was true that nothing is equivalent to Evangeline in Jacks life. The line was more than iconic, it was the truth.
