Ladies and Gentlemen: Start your Engines Ventura to host Children's Charity Challenge
On May16th Ventura’s roads come alive with Ferraris and McLarens to Cords and Duesenbergs as the Everyone Loves Kids (E.L.K.) Charity Challenge roars into town making its debut run. The challenge is an interactive charity and entertainment series which will be showcased on multiple mainstream media outlets. Ron Seggi, legendary radio host commented, “It is a live America-sized Trivia Pursuit Game with 50 influential teams comprised of business owners, key executives, industry celebrities and elected leaders all helping children in need.” This is a driving event (not a race) taking competitors through Ventura solving location based points-of-interest trivia and then accomplishing various activities. The competition is centered on community history, museums and local points of interest; with the daily winner donating $10,000 to the local chapter of their children’s charity. E.L.K. competitors are all notable industry celebrities, business leaders and elected officials from around the world. This year competitors include; Doug Stanley, two time Emmy Award Winner for Deadliest Catch, Shea Holbrook, who operates her own racing team, Shea Racing and competes in the Pirelli World Challenge, Clay Hensley, pitcher for the San Franciso Giants, Kelly Kaminski, Rodeo Champion, Bill Sowles, featured in Time Magazine for his Morong dealerships, Tim Colceri from Babylon 5 and Full Metal Jacket and Margaret Dunning, 104 year old philanthropist and car restoration artist.
The E.L.K. Charity Challenge is truly a one of a kind event that brings charity, motorsports and history to life. Ventura is thrilled to be the starting line of this adventure on May 16th at 10am in front of Ventura City Hall on Poli Street. Don’t miss the excitement, be sure to come out, learn more and most of all have fun! For more information contact Suzanne Baird at [email protected] or (805) 648-2075.

Street Art 2014
Standing on the fourth floor balcony of Emerald House in South Melbourne with a cold beer in my hand watching the sun set from the south-side of the city and contemplating the end of 2014. Around me are many of the luminaries of Melbourne’s street art scene: Factor from Invurt, Luke Cornish (aka E.L.K), Toby from Just Another Agency, Luke McManus, Alison Young, Dean Sunshine, David Russell GT,…

West End Public Art
Melbourne’s west end is dominated by courts, the lawyers offices, the associated lunch and coffee places; it is not an area of the city that I regularly explore as both street art and art galleries are rare in the area. However, this year I have been in the area as I have been covering the Paul Yore trial. I did find some street art off Healeys Lane, a large stencil work by E.L.K. and some…

Exhibition - E.L.K - Louder Than Words - StolenSpace - London
Whilst many of us sadly won’t be able to make this show, we thought we would give credit to Our good friend E.L.K (aka Luke Cornish) who is taking his Louder Than Words show to the one and only StolenSpace Gallery in London. Fuck Yeah!!! Hope the show goes well man!
About the Show: “Inspired by his travels to refugee camps of Lebanon, surrounded by the sound of gunfire, Luke draws on his artistic skills to bear witness to the suffering, hope, violence and everydayness of the displacement and conflicts.”
