I just hung up my "Moonlight Intruders". It's a picture of the A-6 and EA-6B aircraft used by the Navy for many, many years. They even have these airplanes on display as you drive into Oak Harbor. I am very proud of this piece of aviation art. I love the A-6, Intruder. I even got to fly the A-6 simulator, years ago. That was the greatest video game, ever!! I was the pilot and my son was my BN, Bombardier Navigator... it was a blast, both literally and figuratively!!! 💥💥💥 They commented that I was very good at flying the simulator. I told them that I was just flying the same way that I learned to drive in New York. That seemed to make perfect sense to them😁🤣🤣
These beautiful airplanes greet everyone as they enter Oak Harbor. If you turn onto the road that intersects with the highway, where these airplanes are on display, you'll be heading to the Naval Air Station, NAS Whidbey!!! The closest airplane in this photo is the A-6, Intruder. The one in the background is the EA-6B, Prowler. It has a football shaped portion on its tail and it seats 4 people, whereas the A-6 seats only 2. The A-6 is used for attack, while the EA-6B accompanies it and it is used for radar and such, and it guides and helps the A-6 pilots complete their mission. Together, they made a great team, and they have helped to protect us all!! I am happy that they chose to honor these great airplanes, in this way. They did so much for us all, for so many years!! 🫡✌🏼💜I'm such a peaceful person by nature, but I, fully, support the military in their efforts to keep us safe... always 🫡✌🏼❤️🤍💙 Sometimes, you gotta do what you gotta do to keep those you love safe so... I love these airplanes so much that I'm getting misty eyed writing about them!! I'm such a goofball!! ✈️💥💜✌🏼🫡❤️💙🤍
The EA-6A and EA-6B are two generations of electronic warfare aircraft developed by Grumman from the A-6 Intruder airframe. The EA-6A was an interim, two-seat conversion used primarily by the Marines in Vietnam. The EA-6B Prowler was a massively redesigned, four-seat aircraft
built specifically for dedicated, advanced electronic attack. The EA-6A was a basic ECM (Electronic Countermeasures) adaptation of an attack bomber. The EA-6B was the first U.S. military aircraft designed from the ground up specifically for SEAD (Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses) and jamming. #ea6a #ea6b #ecm #marineaviation #boneyardsafari
