Working for the family business is fun for me... I do our Social Media and branding for FREE... I learn and listen ...I work for Makeda's before and after I'm off the clock because I believe in the brand and the promises of God... My parents pay me to meet production for grocery stores and to deliver dynamic customer service... I've worked Social Media for our family biz for free from 2004 to 2019 ... so when Gary Vaynerchuk speaks on patience... i feel that... I'm being patient...my parents didn't ask me to do it... I saw a need so I planted a seed... Mother Wit taught me that one 😉 I started at Makeda's Cookies on Airways in 03... I think my parents hired me out of pity 😂🤣😁😉 $4 an hour because they really couldn't afford me just yet... but I was fresh out of youth ministry... had a little in savings so I made due and stayed true... I got up to 7.50 an hour and i was just proud of my parents for never giving up and finally being able to pay me minimum wage... 2005 Ups and downs... disagreements and agreements... victories and losses... good days and bad days... through it all... we never gave up on us... MEMPHIS never gave up on us... and now... 20 years later Makeda's Cookies is a brand... the best Butter Cookie in Memphis... and I like to think because my parents never gave up and my efforts on social media, marketing and branding...
