Lore Dump!!!

Just an exploration of some of Duchess’ family! There’s a bunch of info on the pics about each character, but the basics are; Celeste is Duchess’ aunt and serves as the guardian of the girls, Princess is Duchess’ little sister, and Raven was adopted into the family when she was around two years old.

I might sketch up some castle designs soon, the idea is just a tad bit daunting as I haven’t done castle design before but you’ve gotta start somewhere right?! I tried using glaze or whatever it’s called so please excuse the weird texture/color change💓

EDIT: Just realized I wrote Celestina instead of Celestine on her info page, her name is Celestine lol!!!

I don’t think EAH should ever be rebooted. Reboots of shows are generally received badly and I think EAH already explored a lot of storylines well enough. The only thing I’d really want is maybe a full conclusion ending on how everyone’s lives and destinies ended up. If they were “rebooted” I’d hope it’s not a whole new rebranding, and just a continuation

I do think EAH should get more SDCC dolls though, and that they should reproduce some of the original doll lines again (at least the first chapter dolls)

I don’t think anything could ever recreate the feeling of Ever After High again, nor “make it better”. A reboot would just be kind of ridiculous, to me. It’s just that like, at the same time that EAH did not deserve be canceled, I do not believe modern Mattel could do EAH justice again. You know?

i think this is a pretty common sentiment in the fandom, we've gotten one or two other confessions about it. the doll point is fair though, a lot of people love the dolls and it's possible having more out there would make it easier for those going through hell trying to get them.

I explained the ways that how I saw the Charmings impacted their styling and the Hoods were the same: to me they are also southern but in the ‘founding family of a small traditional town in Appalachia and are immediately recognizable to everyone” way

Within that, Cerise is the “grungy” cousin

So much plaid and flannel that she could be a background character in Supernatural

I loved making this one because out of all of them I’d say it’s the closest to my actual style-

Revisiting my own reboot universe AU.

when resetting the universe, sprawled out on many pages in the magic tome is the same phase “ I want to relive our happiest memories.” Which is something that Duchess writes in the book the day before the graduation.

When asked where she got the book all that Duchess tells her is she can’t remember who gave it to her. That she has had the book for so many years and so many cycles that she couldn’t put a face or a voice to the person that had given it to her.

At the end of the story, after convincing Duchess to be rid of the book and live her life, all you can see is a mysterious figure picking up the book.

A First Sneak Peek at my EAH AU

She rather liked being a tree, all things considered. Her bark protected her from the elements and her roots reached into the dirt to connect with the whole forest. The woods provided sun and rain, everything she could want.

Which is why it was terribly distressing when a buzz went through the roots that there was a man with an ax. And even more so when she suddenly found herself unable to hear the rest of the forest.

The next thing she knew, she was opening her eyes (and when had she grown those?) on two humans standing in front of her.

"Who are you?" She spoke the words in a slightly raspy voice. (Words and a voice, two more things she was pretty sure she hadn't had before.)

"My name is Azure. And this is Giuseppe," the first human said. Or maybe it wasn't a human at all; she didn't think they usually had wings. "Oh! And you're… um…" she fluttered her wings and looked to the human standing next to her.

Giuseppe gave her a goofy grin. "I'm gonna call her Boobie Mc-" only to stop when he was whacked on the head by a wand.

"You can't do that. She's, like, your daughter!" Azure scolded.

"I'm pretty sure she's older than me," he complained. "How old are you?"

"19." The tree girl said. Though she wasn't sure when she had started thinking of herself as a tree girl, instead of just a tree. Or when she had started thinking at all. She wasn't sure where that number came from either, but she just felt it in her roots that it was right. (Or would have, if she still had roots. This was quickly getting frustrating.)

Giuseppe gave Azure a look as if to say 'I told you so.' and she just frowned back. "Well, we have to call her something! How about Cedar? She was carved from a cedar tree, after all."

"Yeah, that works. Welcome to being a person, Cedar! Congratulations on being the next Pinocchio."

And suddenly Cedar was even more confused. She missed her forest. This whole 'being a person' business sounded rather complex.

"No thank you. Put me back in the forest, please."

This is one of my favorite sections I've written. It's been in my google drive for almost a year now, so I thought I'd share it. I've got lots more ideas coming... sometime. But for now, enjoy some Cedar content!

Recap of recent-ish Mattel events that could mean nothing but also sound like weird coincidences if you look at them together

2022-2024: aired yet another Monster High reboot where, among other things, the existence of a "mirror world" is implied and Clawdeen is called a "rebel" for changing were-ruler traditions;

January: had songs released to the Ever After High Spotify channel that were possibly made with AI but that Mattel (to my knowledge) never made an official comment about, even after they got removed;

July 1st: filed for renewal of the Ever After High trademark, which again could mean nothing as it's not an uncommon commercial practice to keep legal rights over things, but is still funny in this context;

July 23rd: filed for the trademark of doll-adjacent products Hauntlywood Mysteries and Cupid Asteria AT THE SAME TIME, which only suggests CA Cupid (with a rebooted name) might be coming to Monster High G3 (possibly in another Skulltimate Secrets instalment, given the line name?), but you have to admit that it would be weird to bring back the one character that was in both MH and EAH without at least referencing this duality, especially considering they are NOT lacking in characters fans have begged for the return of.

Once again, this doesn't prove ANYTHING and is, at best, circumstantial evidence or whatever, but let me be entrenched in my brainrot at least until the end of summer, please (also let me know if I forgot something lmao) 🙃
