What is an open roleplay? I see many of them around. I want to jump in, but I'm not sure.
An open roleplay is a brand new in-character post that anyone is welcome to respond to. They can vary from one-liners to multi-paragraph “introductions.” The point of an open roleplay is to hook potential partners in with a concept (whether simple or complex) in a way that makes it easy for your muses to interact. Here’s an example from one of my blogs again:
It would be tagged with #open roleplay, #open rp, and perhaps a few other tags to make sure people see it. You can see that even though it’s a short post, it should be easy for you to reply with your muse’s reaction. Pretty much anything in the #open roleplay tag is okay to jump into.
A synonym for open roleplay is open starter.
