Ukrainian Author Andrey Kurkov (born 1961) as photographed by Guardian photographer  Eamon Mccabe. Kurkov is the author of nineteen novels including nine books for children. He has also done a lot of television script work for Ukrainian television and he is presently the president of the civil liberties group PEN Ukraine. His novels seek to express the twists and paradoxes of modern ‘democratic’ politics.

Check out “The Eye” exhibition at Aberystwyth Art Centre organised by Glen Edwards the well known Cardiff based documentary photographer. Glen who is also a part time lecturer at the Atrium will be showing his brilliant work for charities in Africa. The image here is by David Hurn an internationally known photographer who set up the famous DocPhot course at Newport (where Glen studied)(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Hurn) The course was supported by Sir Tom Hopkinson a legend in the field of photography.
