Slowly chipping away at the development of my solar system for my spec bio project. Astronomy is actually kinda interesting when there’s not math involved lol, having fun with it. Cupid is a dwarf planet but I’m qualifying it as an actual planet because it’s more fun that way, plus it’s basically just a mini mars. Cupid is called Cupid because it’s pink and red and it was the first name I thought of for any of the planets so I’m keeping it despite the Hindi naming conventions of the Blue Flumen.
You might be wondering why it’s named the Blue Flumen system, it’s named because of its blue hue because it is moving towards earth and the wavelengths of light are being squished, making them blue, this effect is the blueshift or the Doppler Effect . ‘Flumen’ means river in Latin, its river because of the way its angled in from the point of view of earth. if you look at the Blue Flumen from earth it looks like a blue line basically lol.
Bad drawing, but this is basically what it would look like from earth
I also spent like an hour coming up with the planets orbits in a little simulator, have a look!
There’s a picture up there with all the planets names but if you want some more clearer one:
1. Big yellow (sun): Surya
2. Red: Tapati
3. Orange: Shani
4. Little yellow: Bhadra
5. Green: Cupid
6. Blue: Indra
7. Purple: Yama
8: Pink: Manu
The colors of them in the simulation don’t reflect their actual colors or appearance, the colors are only there so you can see them better as they orbit. :P
Bhadra is most definitely going to be the main focus of the spec bio project because it’s earth sized and in the habitable zone and I also started developing it before I made the Blue Flumen (scroll down on my page a little to see some flora!!)
