There is a sickness about this place... and with it, she blamed the cabin fever of 6 years underground, and what that did to a person. When they’d crashed the Ark into the Earth, it’s surface, ravaged, by the madness of Praimfaya, she hadn’t known what to expect with what this place had become. Knowing that space had been madness enough for her, that she hadn’t known herself the way that she thought she had, when faced with another 6 years of near isolation after tasting real freedom for the first time in her life. Hadn’t known that the friends that had been left within known safety had instead been driven into madness and depravity... that Octavia, the brilliant girl with dark hair and blue eyes, with the ribbon in her hair, would become...

... a monster. That was what she learned from the soft conversations she had in the background. Toni having a way of learning just how to get a person to trust her, to open up. The fear itself, infectious and angry, all afraid to defy even the smallest ordinance that came down from above. A girl on a throne. That was no place for her, not after all the bloodshed that she’d caused, her lips pressed together in anger, but knowing that sense was no longer the means within which she could touch her once friend, and hope to find sanity. No, there was something power, absolute, that corrupted... and was this not evidence of that?

Exhaling slow, wishing she knew what to say when she slipped from her small space into that which guarded their fair leader. Guarded by so many that didn’t wish to give her passage, pleading, softly, she was quiet about everything. Louder, when they denied her more, and louder still, until she came out herself. No more ribbons. Just darkness and soot, streaked about her face. “What the hell is this? You won’t even see me anymore?” there was a hurt within her voice, interlocked within her tone. “I... what the hell, O?” even as someone shoved her for daring to speak to her like that, Toni only pushing back, anger within her movements. She hadn’t fucking survived for 6 years to come back to this.

       SHE KNOWS SHE ISN’T SUPPOSE TO SEE ,  OCTAVIA FORBID HER TO WATCH THE FIGHTING PITS , BUT CAN YOU BLAME A CHILD’S CURIOSITY ?      someone should have been watching her , && they were . . but sneaky little eveline had managed to sneak away mostly unnoticed.   the people of wonkru knew well of who she was ,  && it was because of this that NO ONE questioned why she was on her own nor where she was headed.    (   no one wanted to be in the war path of blodreina if anything should happen to her precious niece , but no one wished think as if they knew best.  )    ;      the cheers of the people watching the latest fight had been what drew her attention ,  feet as swift as the wind && steps quite all the same—slipping through the door , eyes glance ‘round at the dimly lit room.  people cling to the fence surrounding the pit ,  standing so close to one another it was hard for her to push her way past raised arms && balled fists.      the little girl finds a spot for her to stand comfortably ,  eyes glance to her right as she sees familiar faces surrounding the THRONE her aunt had constructed for herself :   indra , gia , miller . . all with eyes trained forward.

         soon enough  eyes follow their steady gaze && almost instantly do doe-like blue hues , the color of her mothers–everyone always says how she has her mothers eyes ! ,  widen at the sight below her.    concrete flooring is covered in old && fresh blood alike ,  bodies lay on the ground almost heaped on top of one another . . it stains the floor , the walls , && even the faces of those fighting for their lives!    despite being only nine years old ,  eveline knew the rules of wonkru && the heavy consequences they held.    these people . . they broke the law && now they’re paying for it ,  that was just wasn’t it?    ;     eyes feast at the extreme display of violence , of gore ,  but not understanding completely the need for SURVIVAL behind these people’s action.   body falls to the ground , blood pouring from a male’s neck as he’d slaughtered by the last woman standing.

        suddenly !   body is scooped up into someone’s arms , a familiar voice rings in her ears amidst the yelling , the cheering.     ❝i’ve told you never to come in here!❞   they scold , ❝a child shouldn’t see things like this , eveline!❞   abby , her grandmother , scolds while arms thrash just a little in order to get a better look at the END of the last opponent.    sword is held high before being swung down with incredible force on the woman’s part.    sword manages to lodge itself in between the male’s eyes . . blood oozes everywhere && for a split second , as she’s being dragged through the door ,  eveline swears she can see the INSIDE OF HIS BRAIN !

𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐕𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐍𝐀 𝐎𝐅𝐅 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐁𝐔𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐅𝐋𝐈𝐄𝐒 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐎𝐂𝐓𝐀𝐕𝐈𝐀,  viviana  sits  down  around  the  roaring  fire,  among  the  other  delinquents  to  eat  for  once.  and,  as  usual,  they  all  sit  as  far  away  from  her  as  they  can,  which,  honestly,  is  just  fine  with  her.  but  then  one  brave  soul  takes  a  seat  on  the  log  next  to  her,  and  she  looks  over  at  him,  raising  a  brow.     ❛   am  i  losing  my  reputation  as  a  terrifying,  blood  -  thirsty  murderer,  or  are  you  just  insane?   ❜     of  course,  she  wasn’t  really  a  blood  -  thirsty  murderer;  she  liked  to  think  of  herself  as  more  of  an  avenging  angel,  but  that’s  what  the  rest  of  the  camp  has  labelled  her.  though  she  knows  she’s  not  the  only  murderer  among  the  group.  but  her. . .  theatrical  slaying  earned  her  the  rep,  and  she’s  not  complaining.

❛  𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐀,  ❜   she  says  with  a  smile,  welcoming  the  woman  into  the  throne  room.     ❛   tell  me  you’re  not  here  on  the  queen’s  orders.  her  banishment  from  polis  still  stands.   ❜     and  it  will  until  viviana’s  dying  breath.  and  then  the  next  commander  will  have  to  decide  for  themselves  how  they  wish  to  deal  with  her.  a  part  of  viviana  wishes  they  could  just  take  her  off  her  hands  now.     ❛   if  she  steps  foot  in  the  capitol,  i  will  have  her  head  as  i  had  my  uncle’s.   ❜     it  may  be  petty,  but. . .  no,  you  know  what?  it’s  not  petty.  it’s  not  petty  to  loathe  the  woman  who  used  and  abused  you  since  before  you  can  remember.  that’s  not  being  petty,  it’s  being  smart.  viviana  won’t  give  her  another  chance  to  hurt  her,  and  she  won’t  be  her  puppet  and  do  her  bidding.  never  again.

𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐈𝐒 𝐆𝐎𝐎𝐃.  training  is  good.  getting  the  blood  pumping,  releasing  all  her  pent  -  up  frustrations  through  sweat  and  tears  and  bruised  knuckles.  luca  always  feels  better  after  a  long,  rigorous  training  sessions  that  leaves  her  with  aching  muscles  for  days,  but. . .  but  today. . .  she  doesn’t  know  what’s  wrong.  her  heart’s  not  in  it.     ❛   i  survived  being  deaf  on  the  ground  for  months.  you  gotta  do  better  than  that  if  you  want  to  beat  me.   ❜     she  says,  dully.

❛  𝐈 𝐆𝐄𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐘'𝐑𝐄 𝐒𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐃.  ❜   sasha  mumbles,  mostly  to  herself,  chewing  on  her  bottom  lip   ---   a  nervous  habit.     ❛   i  mean,  the  ark  was  so  scared  of  me  they  sent  me  to  earth  with  all  of  you.   ❜     they  wanted  their  failed  science  experiment  as  far  away  from  them  as  they  could  get  her,  so  they  gave  her  a  fake  rapsheet  and  stuffed  her  into  the  dropship  with  the  one  hundred  delinquents,  sending  her  to  earth,  and,  as  far  as  they  knew,  her  death.  but. . .  even  if  the  radiation  was  still  bad  down  here,  it  couldn’t  be  any  worse  than  all  the  radiation  they  pumped  through  her  veins.  the  radiation  that  gave  her  these  miraculous  and  frightening  powers.     ❛   i  don’t  know. . .  i  guess  i  just  thought  that. . .  down  here  could  be  a  fresh  start  for  me.  for  all  of  us.   ❜
