Parent Logic
Me: hey, so, I’m going to college across the state. About 9 hours away. And I'm going to get my own apartment. Just me, my cat, and a roommate. Whaddya think?
Parents: what a great idea, such a good learning experience, it’ll do wonders for your independence.
Me (later that week): so my sister wants me to dog sit at her house (15 minutes away) for a week. I’d sleep over and chill out there. That cool with you guys?
Parents: absolutely not. You’re not aware enough, you should wait until you’re 18 (in less than 8 months). We’d feel better if you were older. And a week. Shouldn’t your sister ease you into it??? Maybe start with two days.
Me (thinks): how the hell does this make sense to you guys.
