Tuesday 18th April Okay so yesterday was Easter Surprise. I am so so proud of the carrots like seriously there are no words. Now. On to the cake. I decided of course I didn't need a recipe because everyone knows how to make a cake, right? Wrong. So I remembered having to add eggs to the mix slowly but having made it I'm pretty sure I remember adding the flour in slowly. Idk. Then it cake to baking it and our oven doesn't cook things on two shelves very well so I got smaller tins that would all fit on the one shelf, or so I thought. They were about a centimetre too big so I ended up putting two on a slight slant and they cooked wonky. Luckily they fit together pretty well when it came to stacking. The icing I underestimated how much I would need to then tried to stick bits into it and it went patchy, but that wouldn't really matter too much because that would be covered by the chocolate. That is until the chocolate burned. At this point I was pretty much done. Luckily Flups came in and saw the state of things and just picked up a spoonful of chocolate and stuck it on the top of the cake. We held everything on with chocolate sauce and honestly it's far far FAR from perfect but it tastes amazing. Plus if it was perfect this would be the domestic goddess, not godd-ish. We got the kitchen all tidied up before I started the cake, but by the time it was finished everything was a mess again and I was naughty and left it until today. That said though, I've managed to get all of today's chores done and then some so all on all a successful couple days off
