I was feeding Ramen & Luna 2 of my T.s.sirtalis earlier this evening. I normally tong feed them as Ramen is fairly food aggressive and will strike at her sister during feeding time. This time I gave Ramen fewer but bigger pieces and Luna smaller but more frequent ones which helped a lot to keep Ramen away from Luna. However what I was not expecting was for Luna to try to take Ramen's food. Ramen had already grabbed the piece and it was in her mouth when Luna grabbed onto the other end. This was not a huge piece there was barely anything for her to grab onto. I tried to use the tongs to rip the piece in half but it did not work. So I had to grab both the snakes while they were 'Lady & the Tramp'ing and I got Ramen to let go. If I didn't based on the angle Ramen could've kept eating and put her mouth over Luna's head. And garters aren't the smartest so she'd probably keep eating her sister until one of them got severely injured or killed. Garters ARE a social species, they do benefit from being housed with other garters. However this doesn't mean it's without any risks. And please ALWAYS supervise garters when feeding whether you tray feed or tong feed. If you have less food motivated snakes and they're mostly full you can usually walk away for a couple minutes but please don't just dump in the tray and leave.

Anyways they're both fine here's Luna about 30 minutes after the incident coming over to say hi.
