Max is the first real constant in John’s life. He grew up alongside the dog, who’s a year or so older then he is. He was allowed to keep the dog when he went into foster care, it being one of the few things he actually had. While he may brush it off, that dog holds a major soft spot in his heart.

John’s sleep patterns are irregular. Growing up while being constantly on the run lead to him developing a odd relationship with sleep.

He fall’s asleep extremely easily but finds most beds to be uncomfortable. A large portion of his early life was spent sleeping in the back of car’s or quick roll mat. If he’s desperate for sleep he’ll grab a blanket and lay under his bed.

John is not much better then his mom when it comes to socializing. It’s just that he can be friendly and smile once and awhile to a stranger. After awhile his barriers will lower, but he’s always on edge. Most adults tend to think it’s because he just wants to cause more trouble. Really, his trust is thin.

When John makes a promise, he keeps it. The boy takes his word as his oath and expects the same out of others.

Something that never left him is the way he has people swear. Something as simple as raising your right hand, in other cases it’s not uncommon to see A pinky promise or “cross my heart and hope to die” used in the resistance. It’s childish, but it’s the most honest form one can do.

John doesn’t use guns. He hates them. Even in the worst case Scenario it’s not him who fires. He handles them fine and knows how to use just about any weapon his mom knows, he’s actually a decent shot but just refuses to use them. Luckily, he doesn’t have to in most cases or till his far older.He’s settled in his place of practically being the professional reloader.His ultimate rule is never to take a human life…

This isn’t to say he won’t get in a fight. The kid has a temper and was known for getting into a few in middle school.

John is horrible at improve. He’s great with his hands but not his mouth when it comes down to making up a lie on the spot. He’ll blurt out the first thing that comes to mind (thus uncle Bob) and it’s often unconvincing. To his credit he’ll try his hardest to convince you.
