Very Easy Yes/No Divination Techniques
1. The Coin Flip Just about the easiest form of yes/no divination a person can perform, all you need is something which has one top side and one bottom side. The usual choice is a coin, but you could use a movie case, a button with textures on one side, an acorn cap, a pizza box... Just about anything, really. As a Christian witch, I choose to pray before flipping the coin, asking God to show me the correct choice or action by causing the coin to land one way or the other. Then, I flip it. It can be so tempting to re-flip the coin to get the answer you want, citing any number of excuses for why it landed the way it did. But, ask yourself: if you weren’t doubting that that was the correct choice, why did you bother divining at all?
2. Striking the Match* This is currently my favorite form of divination, and I actually used this method to ask God if it was really okay for me to be a Christian witch. I asked that, if it was okay, He would allow the match to light on the first or third attempt. If He did not want me to do this, the match would light on the second attempt. (Obviously, if it didn’t light by the third attempt, it was a pretty clear No.) The first time I tried, it lit on the third attempt, indicating Yes. However, because I was a bit nervous, I chose to perform two confirmation attempts later. Both times, the match lit on the first attempt. Again, it can be tempting to only “really” try to light the match when it would indicate Yes, but again, why even divine unless you have doubts about the proper answer?
3. The Card Shuffle You take three playing cards (or board game cards, or note cards...), and make note of which one means what. One should be No, one should be Yes, and one should be Maybe. Shuffle the cards, and be very careful to not focus on the order the cards are in. (This can be difficult while only handling three cards, so you could remove one suit from the playing card deck and use the remaining three suits to represent the answers; like, hearts are Yes and spades are No.) While shuffling, focus on you question, and pray that God will show you the path to take. Once the cards are shuffled, choose the card on top of the pile and flip it over. If it’s a Maybe, this could mean that more information will crop up to show you exactly what you should do, or it could mean that the best results can only come about if you do nothing right now. Either way, ignore the situation for a few hours, or a day or two, and then trying diving again.
NOTE: Divination should be used for simple decisions you’re having trouble making, like whether to buy something you want but don’t really need, or whether to ask someone out. It should not be used for major decisions like, “Should I quit this job even though I have no options lined up?”, and it should NEVER BE USED to make medical decisions. (“I’m having severe chest pain and reoccurring blackouts, should I worry about it?”) Medical issues should be taken to a doctor, and major decisions should be prayed about, discussed with family and friends, and (most importantly) thought about over a lengthy period of time.
*You could probably perform this with a lighter, if you don’t have matches.
