for the most part, cam was enjoying himself, wandering aimlessly about the grounds in search of entertainment. maybe the carnival would have been more fun if he had a designated partner to experience it with, yet, for the majority of the event, he found himself drifting between activities on his own. it wasn’t that he minded being alone—he didn’t, really—but there was something about the whole concept of a carnival that felt like it would be best enjoyed in the company of others.
"you any good at carnival games?” he called out to a girl that seemed to be on her own—at least for the time being. cam figured that talking to her was less awkward that ignoring her presence entirely, given that they were in such close proximity to one another. “because i’m not—at least, not at most of them.” there was too much luck involved, he thought. “my brother’s probably won a truckload of prizes at this point, but...” his voice trailed off, a soft chuckle slipping past his lips. “honestly, i’ll be lucky if i walk out of here with a stuffed pikachu.”
