Things had returned to some type of normal, after the contracts had been burned.
That was two months ago now, the stress and fear had dissipated mostly, and the whole bunch of debtors were certainly wiser from the experience, Cagney included.
Though he wasn’t milder, nor any nicer, really, apart from being harmless.
But that isn’t where our story ends, isn’t it?
After all, they all had loves to get along with, including the cups themselves, and it was not as though the boys had moved, they all still lived on the isles and came in contact with eachother often.
Today was one of those days.
It was a sunny day, for that matter, and Cagney had taken a trip to the forest in order to plant some budding seedlings, who sat sleepily in a basket, which he held in one arm, a watering can in the other, when he spotted Cuphead close to where he needed to plant a couple.
“Kid. Been a while.” He stated as he placed the basket down, gently using a hand to move some soil aside in the ground.
“What’re ya doin’ here? Ain’t causin’ trouble are ya?”
