🌿The Hamptons Café 🌿 a gorgeous little place on Jumeirah Beach road, serving a variety of delicious things including soups, quiches, salads and very tasty cakes and deserts. But what makes it really stand out is the decor and little touches, these types of places excite me too much I'm like a giddy child when I find them. I love the beach side cafe theme that you see outside with the chairs and the welcome sign. You can't miss all the gorgeous greenery and flowers it makes the place really stand out. As you go inside you walk through a gorgeous entrance way. In the restaurant the theme follows on as you see the anchor emblem on the tables, cushions even on the napkins, which really gives it a quirky touch. MO's, CityWalk, Dubai

For those that don't venture too far down into Jumeirah 1, CityWalk is a fantastic shopping, lifestyle and dining development. Filled with many new, exciting and well-established eateries alike, we tried out Mo's - a modern American diner. 

The setting is a lovely revamp of a traditional chrome and leather-clad diner - lots of grey and glass keeps on the chic side of kitsch. The menu is enormous and offers everything from breakfast and lunch, to tea time and supper. 

The shakes are a must try, even for those who don't have a sweet tooth and the hot wings are a fabulous way to begin your meal. Portions are huge so steady yourself but if you are feeling gready the sandwiches and rolls are good option - we tried the balboa steak which was something almost off  Guy Fieri's show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and quite delicious. The tacos were nice but not extraordinary but it was the carrot cake which was the piece de resistance.

Mo's would be great at any time of day, for casual dining whether with friends or family. It won't set your world on fire and it is rather expensive, but that said it is good quality and the portion sizes generous.

Price: 205 AED pp: 2 shakes, water, 2 starters, 2 mains and one pudding.

El Sur, The Westin Hotel Mina Seyahi, Dubai

On Monday we headed down to El Sur to experience their Gastronomic Mondays, with recipes inspired and in tribute to the iconic creations by Ferran Adria at the former El Bulli - although we do hear its reopening!

Having eaten at El Sur before there was no doubt we were in for a treat at this cool, contemporary, Spanish restaurant and bar.

We ordered numerous starters from their contemporary menu and the tribute to El Bulli which had three options. All were delicious, but particularly the Liquid Jamon Croquettes (the cooked ones weren't bad either) and the Anchovies on tomato foam. Two comments which were made were: 1. to reduce the size of the Deconstructed Omelette - a little too much for one - and 2. the cheese ice cream although delicious didn't really add much to beef carpaccio. 

Service was excellent as usual and the wine list extensive. We'd recommend the white rioja and the south african rose for these light dishes. 

Price: 310AED pp: 6 starters shared, 1.5 bottle of wine, water & service.

Wear: something trendy and contemporary - with room for food expansion.
