Junes books + silence.
Hey party people. person? idk.
Today has been good so far. It was easy...?! I don’t know how to describe it. Anyway, drove back from the conference and stopped to pick up a pantry shelf thingy from BB+B. Then, i assembled it, by myself! It was kind of nice. I had a snack (Trader Joe’s sesame sticks are yummy btw), listened to some music and organized my pantry a little bit. It was good productive fun, honestly.
And, I got my new books in the mail. I’m trying to read (or listen to) books more over the summer and I’m pretty pumped about these. So you know I’m on a “journey” - which basically means my entire life blew up and I’m trying to survive and take the awesome stuff with me, but also at the same time dump all the bad shit. ya know? So I’m trying to really focus on me, and I saw a couple posts about these on Instagram:
Y’all. it’s about to go down. Eating Mindfully - helllloooooooo. That line at the bottom “how to end mindless eating and enjoy a balanced relationship with food”. WHAAAAAAAAAAA?!!? “a balanced relationship with food”? What’s that... But for real. I need that because I’ve never had a good relationship with food. And I need to figure that out sooner than later. And! The Body Is Not An Apology - yes please. I need this too, pretty badly really. I need to learn to love ALL OF ME. Also, the cover of this book is absolutely beautiful stunning.
Now let’s talk about the thing I’m most excited about. I am sitting in silence (a little white noise in there, but ya know.) and am just word vomiting on to this keyboard. I have actively ACTIVELY been avoiding silence at all costs. I have been actively avoiding myself. I would listen to music or a book or NPR basically from when I got up in the morning until bed. I did not want to be alone with my thoughts. But today, I am loving it. My fan is on, I’m nice and cozy, and I am honestly happy right now in this moment.
First time in days (or if I’m being really honest with myself, months maybe...) that I have been happy. Sure I have stress from stupid shit like “Should I go get my dogs now or let them play at camp for longer?!?!” I miss them... or should I start on all the laundry from this past week? and I really do need to revise those plans/tests before my math team meeting that’s coming up. But right now. I am enjoying my own presence. God, even I want to throw up at that sentence. But it is so true right now.
Until next time.
