We were supposed to watch a movie but surprisingly and without prior searches, the movie we wanted to watch is not included in the line-up list of the cinema showings. Instead of staying in the mall for who knows how long, I immediately suggested that we try one of the restaurants I have saved on my list of ‘where to eat’.
It was a cold afternoon and the sun was already setting when we went to Ze Creamery–a small place that offers large servings of burgers, drinks, explicit pizza and other special dishes.
Their menu brags the various and obviously ‘nakaka-takaw-tingin’ dishes they offer.
We ordered the Badass Burger which is good for two. Funny because prior to that, we were thinking about Gian getting a good for 2 order and a good for 1 for me assuming that a one good for 2 order might not be enough for us.
I have no words but “beb, di ko na kaya”, asking him to consume the last quarter of the burger for me. Hahaha!
We also added Chili Cheese Fries which somehow smells exactly like the burgers and sausages we buy from Winner Wiener. For our drinks, Gian had cubano (green apple x cucumber) and moonwalk (berry x passion fruit) for me which has a similar taste with italian sodas.
Also, Gian was curious about the Sriracha orders (wings & skins) that I, an onion lover, opted to try the Sriracha Skin instead of the large, almost looking like donuts servings of onion rings.
I love how crispy the skins are especially that it's partnered to my all time favorite sour cream!
It was a fun and jaw-tiring night! Hahaha!
Few points:
- Food servings are good, complies with the listed prices.
- I love how accommodating their server was. He gave us the wifi password and even took our photos.
- Their current playlist that time was the 💣💣
- The place isn’t spacious enough but I like how it gives a better ambiance for intimate socialization.
- Only unfavorable comment is that there were a few mosquitos flying inside which I am very conscious of. 🙅

Gian and I wanted to try something ‘new’ last Friday after he picked me up from work. We actually agreed to eat in Volante (our usual) but on a very good note, a light bulb popped above my head and suggested we try the other branch of Cafe de Angelo at St. Patrick Village.
Its first branch btw is located in Chapis Village, somewhere outside the busy town district. This branch though is just along South Drive while going to the Country Club or CJH. Anyway, I’ve been eyeing this branch without actually knowing if it is really located there. I’ve only seen a few instagram photos that made me curious about it.
One cringe-y thing: we arrived at the place financially unprepared as we initially thought of just eating in Volante. I asked Gian to drive to CJH so I can withdraw some cash since it was the only closest place we know that has an ATM. Assuming that my card will be accepted by a different bank, I was so disappointed that it wasn’t and that I even stayed on queue for 5 minutes. Anyway, we immediately drove off to a different location to withdraw and then headed back to the cafe right away.
Here are the first photos we (even if my face is blocked lol) took together that day. Haha missed this wacky babe so much!
More snaps before getting off the car.
The entrance is already enticing. You wouldn’t even notice that there’s an open cafe inside as the place looks completely private and secured.
It seriously felt like entering a majestic place in a December afternoon--cold and christmasy.
We were confused upon entering the whole establishment as there were two separate stairs which we had no idea where each would lead us. In an awkward yet fun moment, one of the clerks (who happened to be my classmate in my Prof Ed classes) suddenly shouted “dito kasi oh, ‘di kasi nagtatanong eh.” I was startled at first upon seeing her but we then laughed it off and said ‘congrats’ to each other for passing the LET.
We weren’t that hungry so we only ordered small bites for our tummies as we already planned to have dinner later that night.
Peach mango pie topped with 2 scoops of ice cream and chocolate syrup; apple shake on the side
Chicken quesadilla with salsa sauce; cucumber lemonade cooler on the side
Quick snaps of Gian while singing in front of me. Hahaha!
We gently left after finishing our meal as we had another errand to do. Anyway, if you’re curious about their menu, here are the photos I took. Also, a view of their open clean kitchen is included below. The coffee bar has only 2 staffs to entertain and serve the guests.
My boyfriend picked me up from school yesterday for our monthsary dinner date then we made our way to look for this undiscovered Canto branch. Unlike its first branch that can easily be spotted in a unique food joint near one of the city’s landmark, this branch was carefully hidden in the midst of pine trees and away from town. Thanks to Google Map (lol not really), a friend who have been to the restaurant already, and to our not-so keen eyes. Haha!
We love how the interior of the restaurant was arranged. It looked like an old house converted into a beautiful romantic set up for any course meal of any time of the day. Its outside is spacious enough to cater more customers; there was even a wide spot for bonfire. We’ve been watching the group of logs light up from 5:30PM until we had to leave at 7:40PM.
What we ordered:
half slob of lomo ribs, one for each *best seller*
a chicken pastel that looked like a baked mac at first but was much better (in look and in taste), containing boiled and flavored potatoes, carrots, pineapple tidbits and chicken chops
lychee slush with lemon zest for our drinks
and a slice of red velvet cheesecake–shared, with no regrets that we ordered only a slice since we were sure that we might not finish them if we ordered a slice for each of us.
The half slob can feed 2 persons together with its side dish of vegetable salad, topped with strawberry slices and crushed peanut brittle. Frustrated to finish the red velvet cake as it was soo good, I’m glad we still managed even if we were already fully stuffed. Nonetheless, the foods have always been good as how we have tasted them first in the first branch, the service was nice, and of course, the full of trees view after its wide space below was stunning.

One funny thing when we left and passed near the famous joint im Ketchup Community, people were still on queue, as usual. Little did they know that there is another branch out there that isn’t fully discovered by many. Hahaha!
Too bad for them though, lining up for so long just to have their favorite lomo ribs when me and Gian just casually walked in, ordered our food that were served in just several minutes, and taraaa, stomachs full for the eatsplorers!
