Locally made maple syrup, beautiful scenery, farm fresh produce—these are just some of the benefits of upstate living. It seemed like it would be difficult to select one feature that epitomizes the Catskills experience, but that was before my first autumn in Saugerties. When the leaves turn bright red, yellow, and orange and the air is crisp, it's hard not to spend every minute thinking about your next cup of hot mulled apple cider or freshly baked doughnut.
When I think about saturated foliage and warm, colorful food—autumn standards—the first thing that comes to mind is Kodak Ektar 100. Known as "The World's Finest Grain" (and without a doubt my go-to film selection), Ektar pairs well with autumn thanks to its saturation, cool shadows, and warm highlights.
These were taken at the Sawkill Creek off of Zena Road in Woodstock. Alecia and I found this little cove over the summer while waiting to see the cabin rental that is now our home (huzzah!). This make the East Coast climate worth it—we already can't wait for fall 2014.
