Self-Motivation

I'd consider myself pretty competitive. I don't like being beaten by people. Recently, on my trip to ECAASU in Boston, one of the people in my group told me that the effects of self-motivation are far most positive than the effects of competition with others. I've been trying it, and I feel somewhat healthier at least in mindset.
