I was wondering how you envisioned the portals to the Echo World? Is it a random tear in space? Or perhaps a floating black hole? Maybe this portal can be seen from both sides like seeing the Echo World from the normal side and vise versa?? Or maybe I'm just thinking too much 🤷🏻‍♀️

Oh, good question!

I see them as like a swirling circular portal with a purplish-tinge. Kind of glittery.

They are sort-of see-through, so you can see an obscured image of the Echo World through it, and the Echo World can see a blurred image of ours.

It's a bit vortex-like too, though it'd only sweep you up into from the Echo World side, which it has done to many an unsuspecting or curious supernatural!

Hi Sera! I have a lore trivia question, and I couldn't find an answer via search, so I hope you don't mind my clogging up your inbox 😅 I was wondering, are there any superstitions about humans in the Echo World, in the same vein as garlic or silver for vampires? Or maybe a human Dracula figure? Is there a human version of Twilight? Lol

Also, did humans used to exist in the Echo World, and were simply hunted to extinction? A response of yours while I was searching had me curious.

There are…myths about humans, yes, for sure!

The stories are mostly based on where they went and the popular 'there's humans living in the abandoned places that only a few see' kind of urban legends, hehe!

They weren't hunted to extinction, it was a much more magical reason for their non-existence in the Echo World now!

Sera! Sera! Sera! I have an urgent argument-related question! Do hive-mind species of supernatural exist in Wayhaven universe?! Also - you're fantastic writer!

Yes, they do exist but they are rare and mostly stick to the Echo World.

The couple of times a supernatural of that type has passed into our world through the portal has…not ended well! Being split from that 'communal mind space' really rips a part of them away, and it's often too much of a struggle to adjust!

How would UB feel if they saw MC in their passed life... like reincarnation? 👀

Oh, I do love some reincarnation stuff, especially when it tangles with romance, hehe! :D

Hmm...

I think A would try to keep reminding themselves that this isn't the MC they know, that it is a different life even if the same 'soul', and wouldn't want to interfere with that...but may end up bumping into them. Accidently. Totally accidently... ;D

F is actually the one out of the group who has some experience with reincarnation, coming from the Echo World where it can be a thing, so they would realise that it's likely not the same person as their MC in their current life.

N would struggle the most to keep their distance! Their curiosity about what the MC was like in different past lives would just be too much for them to contain :D

M...hmm...probably would just assume it was the same MC as their MC, lol! M isn't quite as understanding or care to understand magic as the rest, so would totally just go to the past life MC and start acting like normal, lol.

hi! Huge fan of the series!! was wondering, how's UB with pets- especially with some of the more "far-out" pets, like spiders or snakes? How are they with an MC with pets?

Considering some of the supernatural creatures they've dealt with, snakes and spiders aren't that much a huge deal for them, hehe! :D

For M and A, pets don't actually register as something to pay attention to.

N has more interest if it's a cuddly-type pet.

F treats animals in the same way they treat everyone else, because in the Echo World animals have more magic in them and can communicate in a way and that's what F grew up with. So a pet would be more like a roommate than a pet for F (obviously not influenced at all by my intense love of animals and treating them on par with humans, hehe! ;D)

If a vampire drinks another vampire's blood, will there be any body reaction or rejection?

What if they try to drink the blood of another supernatural?

A vampire can drink another vampire's blood but it wouldn't really do much, especially not provide any kind of sustenance.

A vampire's only source of sustenance in the Echo World is from other supernaturals as there are no humans there any longer.

But human blood is always the, uh, best source of nutrition, lol! :D
