Echoed Dreams
Echoed Dreams Ch 13 Paint and Lollipops is posted
General Obi-wan Kenobi lay dead at Fives feet. The sun shown down through the towering trees. illuminating the smoke still trailing from Fives’ blaster. Fives nudged Kenobi with his boot, just to be sure. He carefully watched his chest making sure their was no movement. After a moment Fives smiled. He’d done it.
Echo slapped him on the back. “Good work! Wish I had landed the killing blow to that traitor.”
Fives smiled widened, his chest expanded, “Thanks Echo, but it was a team effort.” he put an arm around his brothers shoulders. “This is your victory too!”
Fives woke and that smile vanished instantly. He felt his muscles clench. They were going to be working along side the 212th in the next campaign. Skywalker was their General but Kenobi would be in charge of the entire operation. He felt his lips curl in disgust, the memory of the dream still fresh in his mind. Commander Cody’ s reports always said fantastic things about Kenobi. It was clear Cody thought highly of him and it was no secret the man was well loved by the troopers who served under him. A sinking feeling grew in his stomach. The eel dreams had stopped at least. He reminded himself. Then he let out a breath he didn’t realize he’d been holding.
It wasn’t real. It was just a dream.
Slowly he began to feel the knots in his stomach loosen and his muscles unclench. He had a vague memory of a similar dream. It had been a different Jedi they were hunting, and the hunt took place inside the durasteel gray walls of a Jedi cruiser, but the outcome and the feelings had been the same. The feeling of absolute certainty that the Jedi must die was the same. The smug smile still clinging to his face as he woke up was the same. The guilt was the same too.
Feeling guilty afterwards is what matters. I can’t control what my brain does while I sleep.

Five Random Facts about your OC
Thanks for the tag @tangents-within-tangents
Original Clone Character Ket
Ket is a medic in my Echoed Dreams story and a spin off in the same series with some interesting reveals about my other Clone OC Kamino. He will appear in other stories in this series when I ever get back to it.
1) Ket was originally called Blanket and it was shortened to Ket when he grew up. He was called Blanket because he kept sneaking extra blankets into the sleeping pods with him as a cadet and named when he was discovered by the kaminoans. Echoed Dreams goes into more details.
2) Ket is friends and batch mates with Captain Howzar. They don’t see each other often now that Howzar is a Captain and Ket became a medic, a chief medic in the 501st before he became injured and sent to Kamino.
3) He is embarrassed by the name Blanket and only lets his old squad get away with calling him this.
4) And yet still lives up to the name by collecting soft, often brightly colored, blankets whenever he can and gives them out to friends. No one really cares about this slight deviation from the standard issue, although they don’t always hold up as well in the industrial washing machines. He still thinks they are credits well spent for the time they do get to enjoy them.
5) When he was with the chief medic in the 501, and Anakin asked if there was anything he could do to help the clones. Ket asked Anakin to help distribute softer blankets to all the crew, which the Jedi gladly did. After that he learned to trust the Jedi. Prior to that, like all the clones in this unpublished story, they believed the Jedi condoned Clone decommissioning, because why else would it be a practice on Kamino? Anakin making good on the blanket request endeared the young Jedi General to Ket, even more so than him racing of (Recklessly in Ket's view) to Kamino to put a stop to decommissioning.
Bonus: Ket giving out chocolate in his infirmary on Kamino is the start of Fives obsession with Candy.

Rain soaked every brick, and the wind filled every memory. From birth, children took their first steps in the ripples, wandering through the rain. The world gave them the weight of moisture, and they returned it in verses of life.
Comments
Liora - This land is full of challenges and hardships.
Golden Tango Julie - The more barren the land, the wilder the flowers that bloom!

The curtains in the box rose layer by layer, and a familiar melody flowed like a stream. That long-faded dream, that figure enchanted by song, at last, was reunited with old companions.
Comments
Vino - The first time I saw that actress, I thought I'd mistaken her for someone else for a moment.
Kilo the Cadenceborn - I heard this was a dress that never made it to the intended recipient. I can't help but sigh with deep regret.

Echoed Dreams is now done.
I didn't post the last couple of chapters snippets here, oops, but its done now. The story follows Fives and Echo as well as some Clone OC on their journey from Cadets to the Battle of Kamino.
“ETA!” Shouted Blitz. “Kamino, where are you?!”
Blitz’s panicked voice sent a chill down his spine, a chill made worse by the rumbling noise of steal on steal. That’s when he saw them, the droidekas rolling in on his squad’s position. Pinned down behind the shipping crates there was no way his team could fire on them, but they could hear them. They’d been trained to listen for that sound. Trained to listen for it among the chaos of other noise, because firing before they got their shields up might just save your life. It was the sound of metal, the sound of death.
