God listening to Jon turning Jordan this time hit a lot harder. I didn’t really think that hard on it before, just thought “hey that’s fucked up. Jon clearly panicked seeing someone he knew suffer”

But this time I realized something. Jon has been watching this man in his dreams for years now. Every night he’s seen him suffering while he was unable to move, unable to help. And now here he is again. Jordan suffering, Jon watching. Except this time he can do something. And so he does cause he’s so desperate to HELP

so since it's ace week i wanna talk about my very specific jon's ace ring headcanon. (btw the beginning of this is very inspired by a fic i read once, but i can't remember the name)

so jon has an ace ring. he got it from georgie in uni after she helped him figure out he was ace, and he wears it everyday.

but then, after jude perry burns his hand, he can't wear it for a while (i know if he wore it when shaking her hand it would have probably melted, so let's say he wasn't wearing it for some reason). he keeps the ring in his pocket and after he comes back to the archives martin notices he keeps fidgeting with it. (now this is the part that i read in a fic) martin asks about it and jon admits how upset he is that he can't wear it (this also ends up functioning as a coming out so martin can hear it from jon instead of office gossip!) and martin gives him a chain so he can wear it around his neck while his hand heals.

now this is the part that's all mine. i imagine right before they leave for the unknowing, jon and martin say goodbye (and they kiss cause it makes s4 hurt more and it's basically canon im my mind). jon takes of the ring necklace and gives it to martin, asking him to look after it until he comes back.

then the coma.

at first i imagined jon waking up with the ring next to him but no martin. but then i came up with something sadder (but also maybe sweeter?). martin keeps the ring. he knows he should give it back after jon wakes up and that he could probably find a way to do it without talking to him, but he just can't get himself to do it. jon notices but kinda forgets about it (he's got bigger things to worry about and assumes martin forgot).

then they go to the safehouse. and martin gives back the ring. he apologizes for not doing it before but jon is just touched that he still has it. it's all very emotional and then martin puts the ring on jon's finger and they are both VERY aware of how much it looks like a proposal

A while ago I subscribed to rusty quill’s patreon for one month so I could get access to the extra bloopers (which are amazing and definitely worth it) and the deluxe transcripts and I’d definitely recommend it. I know they’re not canon, but they’re great. You’ll get such treats as:

• Jon being a tired millennial

• Jon shitting on the police

• Just general Jon snark

• Jon’s degree is in literature (unqualified king)

• Some really sad comments on the leitner statements

• Being subconsciously compelled to cross out this line “grant us the sight that we may not know. Grant us the scent that we may not catch. Grant us the sound that we may not call” from the statement in page turner

• Jon defending the anatomy students

• Statement giver says they almost threw up and Jon comments “a common response to fanfiction” like excuse me?! Sir?? What do you have against fanfiction??

• “Ah, mums. I assume” wtf Jon?! Why are you trauma dumping in your notes?!

• After Sasha talks about how she met up with Michael and kept investigating: “really need a staff training seminar on when to RUN AWAY” Jon I love you

• “Georgie needs to get better taste in friends”

• Just. Some really sad and ominous comments on the prentiss statement

• Implying that he’s sent the british museum MULTIPLE emails and they’re ignoring him

• “If this house is haunted by a ghost clown, I quit”

• And last but not least:

The reason I started liking Viktor at first was because he reminded me of Jon archivist. Like in s1 Viktor isn’t really that similar to Jon other than the vibes and some physical similarities to the fanon design (tired tired man). But now with season 2 there are even more similarities! They both die in an explosion and come back to life as something not quite human (difference being that Jon had a choice, Viktor didn’t). Viktor even has different colored eyes when he comes back! Just like fanon Jon! And then! They just fucking posted a poster of Viktor with long hair?!! Are they doing this on purpose at this point?

Now I’m just thinking about how their situations when they woke up are different.

With jon he chooses to come back as a monster instead of dying as a human. He wakes up with less “humanity” than before but he’s still pretty much himself. But his friends don’t see that. They see him as a monster. They don’t trust him and are uncertain whether he’s even Jon anymore. Jon is still himself but his friends think he’s a monster.

And with Viktor he didn’t get a choice. Jayce saves him and when he comes back he’s barely Viktor anymore. It’s unclear how much of him is left at this point but it’s obvious he’s not quite himself. But Jayce doesn’t see that. He’s just happy he’s alive.

Not sure what to make of this but I’m losing my mind over it. Just. Jon who comes back as himself but whose friends think he came back wrong. Viktor who isn’t himself, who came back wrong but Jayce loves him anyway.
