A world safari! Meet Jingga Da-Troll-Hunter and his fellow/buddy dino Chompah... their adventures started very early, when Chompah was just a small bloodtalon hatchling...

If not for the wedding situation, would people dislike Richard so much? He's done other unpleasant things, but so have they all. I think he would otherwise just be "on the wrong side of things".

...and Richard? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNDD Richard? How dare you, sir.
I didn’t expect two little tags to spark such controversy! XD (It’s cool, it’s cool; I love the enthusiasm.)
I can’t speak for anyone else, but I for one disliked Richard long before the wedding. For that matter, the wedding really didn’t change my opinion of him; his dislike of Anna was well established, of course he’d take any opportunity to fuck that up. The person who really drove that disaster -- and, more importantly, persistently disrespected the character and agency of his friend and supposed love -- was Abe. So if 3.04 really embittered me against anyone, it’s him.
Overall -- I enjoyed Richard’s friendship with Hewlett, while it lasted, and appreciate his love for Sprout, but his general demeanor, the multiple times he called Anna a whore, that time he called Hewlett weak, his strained relationships with both Mary and Abe ... I’m not saying his frustrations with other characters aren’t understandable, or that he’s a morally bad or that fans shouldn’t like him. Not to mention that Kevin McNally is fantastic to watch. Richard is a solid and complex character, but he’s a character who just tends to rub me the wrong way.

There’s also the idiotic response of ‘As soon as they started streaming it, it’s not THEIR game anymore.’
What
What
WHAT
I haven’t seen that one before. People actually say that? The HELL?!
Like oh my gods. Have any of these people watched a tv show ... ever? A movie? Read a book? What ... what the fuck ... what ...
I’m just, I cannot wrap my head around that. It’s literally their show. They own it, they decide when and how to broadcast it, it’s theirs. Legally, even, because Legendary didn’t buy Critical Role, that’s still Matt’s intellectual property.
Now there are things that changed from the private to public show format, and those are overwhelmingly for the better. I’d argue that things like Sam’s use of mind-control to NPC women, the “lol let’s go to a brothel” jokes, and Scanlan’s pursuit of Pike after she turned him down repeatedly ... those are things that fizzled out gradually on the show now that it wasn’t a game among friends but a live show broadcast to a large audience. Things like increased queer representation, more character development and romances, and consequences for morally ambiguous actions, those are examples of positive changes from the private game to publicly broadcast show format. Fans discuss representation openly with the players on twitter and send in questions to the Q&As, and get responses. The show champions charities and causes and encourages donations from fans who want to show their appreciation.
They recognize that they’re performing for a live audience, a large audience, and they have a duty to respect minorities among their fanbase and not make nasty jokes about them. They can’t just say whatever they want, going too far “for a joke” has ramifications through their fanbase, and they know this. In that way I suppose it’s not entirely “their show” anymore but like, that’s how every piece of media is once it becomes shown to the public.

I did! I liked the end, as it felt like a place he was actually needed, and they needed him. And Ethan Hawke’s Clint Eastwood voice. :)
Yay!!! Yeah, Ethan Hawke was really good. Though, heh, I hope Burn got his act together after the credits rolled — maybe poured out the rest of that whiskey, y’know, and started acting like a proper priest. And, like ... took a bath. Like ten baths. That would be a good start. ._.

I'm kind of sad Mary's such a ... beast. Her thoughts about how awful Anna is seem better turned inward. But oh shit that cliffhanger!
Oh no, sorry to make you sad! I really do get where you’re coming from, though. In my first draft, Mary was much gentler, and I was conflicted about changing that. But it just didn’t feel like her. One of my favorite things about canon Mary is the contrast between her delicate exterior versus how angry, even ruthless, she can be deep down. (Also, though it was many chapters ago for us, I tried to keep in mind that she hasn’t had any interaction with Anna since learning Anna slept with Abe.)

I was re-watching s2 these past couple days, and her mentions of Selah have to do with loyalty, not love. Just FYI.
Thanks for the info! Yeah, I was trying to remember how much he’s mentioned past s1, and ... I remember her pointing out to Hew that she’d betrayed her husband by jumping from the boat ... I remember her saying much the same to Abe, with the added lament that she’d done so even though she had no future with Abe ... and in s3, of course, he’s mentioned a few times re: the supposed divorce. But I can’t recall Anna speaking of him in a way that betrayed much sentiment for him as a person rather than just loyalty to him as her husband.
I don’t know. From the brief glimpses we got of Anna and Selah together, I got the impression that they liked each other well enough but that it was more a match of practicality than romance. Maybe that’s just me?
