Reduced listening on the Avignon-Paris TGV.
Ever since the #oneknobtorule concert I’ve had an ear infection (probably from dirty earplugs) meaning I spent xmas drifting in half-deafness. As a musician and sound artist, it was fascinating watching people moving, talking and doing ordinary things while all I could hear were low filtered tones and the whistle of my nervous system. I’d bought Igor Vasiliev’s iOS app #fieldscaper as a distraction, but hadn’t really got into it. It was only when using it in conjunction with other apps in audiobus that I began to realise its potential. This was recorded on the journey home, listening to it at such a reduced level I was hardly aware of its augmenting the sounds of other passengers.
