The Implications of EchoTard

Okay, so I’ve gotten a few questions about Echo x Goultard and where it came from so I figured I’d just make a post about my various speculations and headcanons, as well as the lore for them I invented.

The most important question (where they came from) can be answered with a scene from s3.

That’s it. That’s my entire basis for this ship.

But doesn’t that look like a past admirer staring lovingly at the object of their admiration??? There’s so much affection in her gaze one can’t help but speculate on the implications of this look.

SO!!!! I came up with a whole ass AU for this brief, 3 second snippet because I’m insane (Keep in mind my primary basis on Krozmos lore is Wakfu so I just be making stuff up here).

Echo and Goultard are both demi-gods, resentful in one way or another towards their parents. Echo, because … what other reason would she have to join the brotherhood, and Goultard, because he feels resentment towards his father for abandoning him.

In my mind, they met a few hundred to a thousand years ago in Inglorium (this would be pre-Oropo). Seated at their respective Godly parents right hands, they spy each-other rolling eyes at the Gods’ endless droning, and an instant connection sparks.

After the meeting, they begin to chat and discover they have quite a few things in common (namely, disdain for their parents).

Cue a decent bout of courting and a good, long relationship, before they inevitably split due to a differences in ideals.

Echo wishes to take a more rebellious route for dealing with the Gods’ negligence, and Goultard wants to just leave Inglorium all-together. They fight and eventually have a very long, messy break-up.

Goultard leaves Inglorium and rebounds with his mortal wife we see in his OVA, and Echo finds Oropo and joins his cause.

They don’t think about each other for hundreds of years until the s3 finale, when Echo sees him laughing with the family she’s just helped reunite and years of memories come rushing back.

Cue a moderately uncomfortable reunion, and the season 3 ending plays out pretty much exactly as it does in the show, except when the portal to Inglorium opens, Goultard pulls Echo through and she survives (because I HATE that she died with a man who basically lead her on for centuries).

And then they get back together. Don’t you just love a happy ending that I made up??? I bet you do!!!

He’d also just treat her WAY better than Oropo would, which is why I like the ship so much. That man is devoted as hell.

So, yeah, they’re pretty much canon and we should all stan Echotard because they’re cool and awesome.
