Eclipse Study, 2024. Oil on illustration board. 10 x 8 in. SOLD Something I learned while documenting this piece is that glossy dark paintings do not scan well, at least not in my scanner. All the ridges in the brushstrokes get highlights on them, and the darker values get messed up due to varying reflectivity and underlayers. It works much better to take a photo, although you lose a lot of detail, especially due to having to angle the piece to avoid glare.
