Cataclysm Ch.003 - Encounter with the Strongman ~Phase 2~
As he approached me with his incoming right, I shot my legs up, and kicked off his chest. He winced in pain a bit. Yes! He isn't as invincible as I thought! ... However, he didn't stop his swinging motion. Instead, he sped up with more force, and I couldn't dodge quick enough, so I tried to block. It felt as if his whole strength flew at me. "Nghaaaah!" I cried out in pain as I was knocked back from the blow to the side, and onto my back. My only instinct was to run, but logically, I wouldn't be able to get away. Schizor was standing in the only direction that separated me from the exit to get away.
"Are you ready to give up yet? You cannot win!" Bruno was saying from a distance.
I could sluggishly rod up. My ribs still hurt from the hit I recieved to my right side, and to make matters worse, my arms were stining from the force of impact. "Wait... what? What is this? My body feels... different." I was saying to myself.
"What the..." I yelled out, startled and panicking. He wasn't there. I started to scan my surroundings. "Where is he?!"
Schizor smirked at me as I scanned. I tilted my head, and he pointed out around the exact same time I hear Bruno cry out from above me, "TWIN HAMMER FIST!"
I was shaken up. I couldn't move. He was about 10 --no. 5 feet above me raining down with that kind of inhuman speed. "You got to be kidding me..." I let out in a defeated breath. Meanwhile in my head:
"HOW IN THE @#$% CAN A HUMAN JUMP THAT HIGH?!"
"Crap! No time to react," I murmured back to myself, still panicking. The only intuition I have is to counter this hit, and I threw out a punch to try to stop this hit from the incoming collateral damage. As I swung my fist out to connect, my headpiece started to whir around. A tingling feeling shot through my body. This wasn't my concern at the time, and it didn't matter. My only only thought was to escape this situation, no matter how it could turn out.
"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!", I yelled out.
"HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Bruno shouted among his incoming blow.
Out hits landed. I felt the ground break from under my feet under my stern placement.
"What the hell!" I can hear Schizor scream out in the distance. "What the hell is this?!"
Outside of the battle where Bruno and I were, someone else was watching, but I wasn't noticing. My eyes were on Bruno, and Bruno only.
"... Another one," the mysterious person said. "To think the new kid would have it too, but... I've never seen this case." Schizor shot around immediately to see the figure who spoke. His face instantly went from surprised, to shocked, to anger.
"You... Elexander Condoir! Why are you here?" Schizor snarled at him. " This doesn't copncern you!"
"Hold your tongue, Charltain," quoted a cool Elexander. "You're in no real spot to play badass. Besides, I'm willing to see how this unfolds, so sit tight. He is your lackey, right? Let's keep watching. This may be getting better. This match doesn't look like it's over."
"Don't tell me he's one of yours," Schizor angrily retorted.
"Please. Day one human newbies aren't my thing. They're better off being kept away from m-- What in the..." Elexander was astonished at what he saw next.
The dust cleared, and I looked up. Bruno had a surprised look on my face. We were... evenly matched?! I slid out and Bruno moved back, and came toe to toe with the muscular giant.
He finally spoke up for the first time, in a calmer voice that seemed not scripted. "You're just like us. No matter. I must finish this."
"What do you mean, "I'm just like you?"" I lashed back out. "I'm nowhere clo--" I didn't even get to finish my sentence before being sent flying... again. However it didn't hurt as much. I skidded against the wall, and hit my back on the brick of the school wall. It didn't hurt as much as I thought it would, and as I pulled myself back up towards the window near the school grounds in order to get my footing back. People were gone, but this place was eerily vacant. As I got up, I noticed something was different as my eyes rose up over the window of the first floor.
I wasn't who I was. My eyes had changed completely. They were a greenish color. My headband changed to a solid black color, and my brown hair had stood up on end, and spiked out along the back, and the other half and hung over my face. That wasn't the only thing. My body's composition looked the same, but things were altered. My skin went from it's fair complexion, and branched into a redder color from my veins going downward.
Wha... What? What happened to me? This was the thought running through my head. I thought I was normal... was that why I was sent here?
"What he hell was this," I shouted out. "What am I?!"
"Like I said. You're one of us," Bruno repeated. "I thought I made that clear." Schizor's face was gaping, and at a loss for words. Elexander stared back at the firm-standing body that was Xavier Rockwell.
(in actuality, he's battered beyond recogition. Trying to make himself look cool.)
(GET OUT RAINE, YOU'RE NOT WANTED HERE)
(Aww, but I wanna speak!)
(NO. CAN I NOT HAVE COOL MOMENTS TO MYSELF. THIS IS MY STORY GET OUT. >:C)
(FINE. IT'S NOT LIKE YOU'RE COOL ANYWAYS. -leaves-)
"Bruno!" Schizor abruptly yelled out.
"Yeah, boss?" He calmly retorted, not taking his eyes off me.
"We're leaving. We've seen all that we can."
"No. He's not done. I'm ending it here." Bruno came at me running. Without warning I did too. He knew I was coming at him, so he took initiative. He pounded the ground, and sent himself airborne for a punch. I wasn't faltering. For some reason, I could stand with him toe-to-toe with that last hit. I spun and sent my arm flying with my body.
"We'll see who's arms are stronger: Mine or your weak looking body's," he said cocky. I felt this feeling again... the same tingling feeling from my headpiece whirring, and my blood rushed to my arm... or it felt like it. My arm grew larger and I shouted out at the same time this was happening, "Wrecking Ball Cannon!"
"TWIN HAMMER FIST!" Bruno yelled out boldly. As we connected, you could feel the energy let off from our hits. We fell back down after the impact. The height and force dropped me to my knees. Bruno had fallen to the ground. His arms had seemed broken, but upon closer inspection, they were merely fractured. Schizor had left his comerade, and Bruno had gotten up to his feet and walked off.
"Where're you going," I yelled out to Bruno.
"The match is over. I have lost."
"But what about your injuries?"
"What of them? They'll heal in time." he retorted. "Besides it's not me you should be worried about. It's you." He walked off after that.
My body was reverting back, and I felt the pain come back again. Elexander walked back up to me. "Are you alright? You took quite a lot of damage in that fight." I nodded my assurance to him, and stood up.
"Don't worry about me. I'll be alright."
"Nothing major seems broken, so that's good news."
"I'm going home. Thanks for the help...?"
"Oh, I'm Elexander. Elexander Condoir. Come on, you're being modest now. Let me accompany you! Even if it's halfway," Elexander insisted.
"...The train station is fine," I acceptingly told him.
We walked, and talked for what would seem like hours, but it wasn't even relatively close. He made me end up using him as a crutch. He tried to cheer me up, but sadly, my body hurts too much to laugh. I got on the train, and left. I didn't even want to see him again. I didn't even think I wanted to face school, in all real aspects. Though, all of this -- the events that occured today, what was all that? I'd like to just like to sleep on the train, and forget this all happened, but it's as real as day. Just what exactly is up with me?
