not mad about any particular instance but every year around my birthday i am reminded that people dont know how to respect my wishes to not be surprised at all. there is no instance where i want to be surprised by what someone is getting me EVEN IF I ENJOY THE GIFT. its really not that hard to just be like "i want to get you this thing would you like it" AND I CAN SAY YES OR NO!! genuinely so fucking infuriating that people cant wrap their heads around me hating surprises.
