Sustainable Bathroom Swaps
Sustainability has become something rather close to my heart recently. With that being said, slowly but surely I am making more sustainable swaps within my lifestyle. Given the current political climate and actual climate crisis; I have decided to take small changes in my everyday life. The goal is to live a more intentional life here on Earth. One that is filled with real wholesome food, limited single use items, and a ton less plastic. These changes may seem minuscule to the average person but I know that every little bit counts.
I have focused mostly on my bathroom and/or toiletries because this is where I personally see a large amount of plastic in use. I also have made a big effort to FINISH my products completely before I go out and buy new ones, I noticed that was a problem I was experiencing as well. So far I have made these simple swaps:
shampoo and conditioner bars
bar soap for my body
safety razor (only have to replace razorblades)
bamboo toothbrush
all natural toothpaste (I can recycle this when I am finished)
As well as those simple swaps I try to carry around either a reusable coffee cup and/or a mason jar for drinking. I am working on assembling a utensils pouch for when I am on-the-go to avoid single use plastic utensils. In the future I would like to either buy/thrift a lightweight stainless steel tiffin to travel with my lunches instead of glass (which can be heavy sometimes).
Currently I am at the very beginning of my eco- journey and I can’t wait to see where this process will take me. I hope to continue to grow in this process and I hope that my changes will inspire others to do the same.
