The SCA has set aside the 2019 environmental authorisation for the 3 000MW Richards Bay gas-to-power plant.
Organization in this case specifically an SOE wanting to use the land in a community/place but having no interest in involving the public is aggravating. Majority of the people in the community are Zulu speakers and yet did not print out any information regarding the plant in Zulu newspapers, only in English and Afrikaans. Not to mention the environmental impact assessment report has no account for the actual impact the plant is going to have on the community. I am glad it's been blocked, you cannot do projects or initiatives etc in a community/place without proper public participation as they are also stakeholders and its their land.
