Festive spirit!
December had started yesterday and that means we will soon feel the Christmas spirit. I'm sure that if you're going to the malls you already had experienced jolly music, red and green decorations, and many sparkly things. I avoid shopping centers, I'm trying to be minimalist and I sincerely have minimalistic aesthetics but ironically I like daub and there is something about Christmas commercialism that I love. All these tiny Santas, ugly sweaters, everything in gingerbread taste and old winter songs make these holiday my favorite. I'm that person that plays carols before Halloween and chooses eve as a party theme (in may). After that introduction you may think that I'm hypocrite in these field too, buying everything Christmas related, but you'll be wrong. I love the daub but I don't want it in my home, it's my guilty pleasure, also I prefer other ways of hollying and jollying my soul that doesn't cost me fortune. How to take the most out of Christmas and staying far away from shopping centers?
1. People — this is the time when you stop being Grinch and start to think about others, I always try to see everyone close to me before Christmas, there is nothing like spending some quality time with loved ones.
2. Food — anything ginger, with cinnamon, spicy, chocolate or hot will do.
3. Decorations — you probably already have them at you house, if not your Christmas tree will be perfect decorating piece, you may add string lights and you don't really need anything more (bonus tip: change your phone and computer screen for something festive, these will also make the mood)
4. Music — you can find Christmas songs in every moderation but if you're looking for something less obvious try music from Nutcracker and Harry Potter.
5. Coziness — blankets, socks, sweaters, warm beverages, books or movies, you may even build a fort.
6. Traditions — in every country and every house this looks different, you may embrace your family traditions, learn about ones from other cultures or create you own.
7. Christmas countdown calendar — list of activities to do that will spread the festive spirit all around you.
Applying these simple, little things to your daily life this month will make this holiday season really festive for you and that’s what I wish you!
I’ve prepared Christmas countdown especially for you and if you want to do it with me follow my ig stories.
