The Community Housing Industry Association has stated in its pre-budget submission that public housing stock has only increased by 5.2% sinc
If social housing groups were serious about resolving the housing crisis, they would urge the federal government to cut housing demand by limiting immigration to reasonable historical levels of less than 120,000 per year.
Both DEMAND and SUPPLY need to be tweaked in Australia.
Reducing DEMAND is a penstroke solution - simply change immigration policy and immediately reduce the immigration intake and peg future intake to new housing stock.
Increasing SUPPLY takes decades to solve.
We all understand the Australian Government is captured by the big banking cartel but Australia is going to end up like South Africa if it doesn't quickly change course.
