In my pursuit of trying to be more eco friendly, I’ve replaced using shower gels and cheap soaps to handmade ethically made and natural ingredients kinds of soaps. I’ve been doing it for months now. I find that not only is it helpful for the environment, it’s been moisturizing for my skin too. Next transition will be making my own lotion😂🤭. Have you done that before? Two months ago, a friend of mine (shoutout @tiffanyandrukat ) and I wrote a paper on the ethics of fast fashion. Suffice to say, that paper made my conviction to research more about the stuff I buy before I buy it stronger. Questions such as "who made it? Who packaged it? Are they sourced well? Are they treated good? Given fair wages?" It's exhausting, but it's worth it. At whose expense will I be sacrificing just to satisfy my wants? Also actually, I just don't shop much anymore, unless needed, which surprisingly is not much. ha! Since switching to a plantbased lifestyle, my sweet tooth had to find a new channel to satisfy itself 😆. I soon found out fruits were the way to go. From my super fave grapes, to oranges and grapefruits. They are all natural and healthy sugars, plus vitamin C! (gotta keep that flu away!) Two of the main reasons I became vegetarian 3 years ago and plantbased this year are for the environment and my health. Did you know that if you eat less meat and more veggies, you lessen your carbon footprint on earth? That means you’re contributing to preserving the earth for the generations to come!
