Day 8: Electric Core AU

This one has a more lore behind it, because it's sort of a crossover betweem @tourettesdog's LBM and one of my EctoberHaunt2021 oneshosts (𝕯𝖆𝖞 𝖙𝖍𝖗𝖊𝖊: 𝕮𝖗𝖞𝖕𝖙𝖎𝖉) where Danny has an Electric Core, so his mentor isn't Frostbite, but a whole Thunderbird (who is depicted in this piece of art)!

More lore and trivia under the cut.

When I wrote the oneshot, I imagined Animikii the thunderbird with a grey parrot head and a body similar to Fantastic Beast's one.

However, when I scoured the net to search other references for the mythical bird, I found this totem and I fell in love, so I had to use it as a template.

Hope I rendered it justice! (๑˃ᴗ˂)ﻭ

Day 7: Abyss vs Swamp

They say swamps preserve memories, but the most they preserve are bodies.

Ancient swamplands are the birth place of the blackest of oil, a perfect final resting place for dinosaurs and mega fauna alike.

Maybe the fog that obscures wetlands is a collective of ghosts crawling along the ground, begging to be remembered. The spirits of thousands of millenia-old creatures reliving the last emotions of their life.

Ghosts so immense and ancient it makes myself look like an infant...

Could you imagine of such a ghost were to exist?

The veil is certainly becoming thinner...

Day 2: Scream vs LAUGH

Laughs can be sweet, the response to something joyous.

They can be hearty because of a good joke.

They can be relieved, barely a breath as you realize that strange noise was merely your cat.

But laughs can also be derived from anguish; from madness. Laughs that slip out from sheer frustration or mania.

Which sort of laughter do you have in your dreams, dear reader?

Ah, it seems the veil has thinned yet again, dear reader- enough so that our young... guest seems to have been able to get a message out.

Do not worry. Do not fret.

He is simply young and quite rude- his frosty head filled with delusions of grandeur and justice.

Soon that little... gap in reality shall close, and I shall fill his thoughts with nothing more than sweet dreams.

...

Or nightmares, should our guest prefer- should he fight.

But that is not the news I wish to convey.

One Moon from Now.

The Knight shall rise again.

So how does Trick vs Treat work?

All things must come in pairs, for there is no balance without a double- but I shall still explain.

The rites (prompts) for Trick align with Fright Knight. Things to send him packing; things that are a little hash for the faint of heart.

The rites for Treat, however, align with myself- Things that seem sweet but may not be- dreams and the fantasy surrounding them, wishes that may even turn into the deepest of despair..

Both types of rites steal our power away...

Both are things that will send us packing...

Can you stop us, dear Lenn?

Can any of you stop us?
