The idea of the project is result of recognising opportunity to develop ECVET and to improve mobility within construction sector through transfer of innovative methodology that has proved to be successful in different context and seems highly appropriate in achieving aims of CONVET. Within EU there are industries where levels of competence vary dependent on requirements of countries.
In result qualifications are not recognised and mobility restrictions are placed on professionals. In construction sector situation is the same and sector suffers problems due to economic crisis. Unemployment rates are high, so is mobility, while non-recognition of qualifications causes construction sector to be large black market area. On other hand, adoption of Recommendation by European Parliament and Council in 2009 creates conditions for implementation of ECVET and in 2012 Member States were expected to create conditions for implementation of ECVET but knowledge about it is still minimal in construction sector. Partners decided to undertake actions focused on transferring methodology from UK for development of ECVET system in regards of VET training institutions and learners from construction sector in order to develop ECVET among VET providers and through that rise mobility of workers.
Main project aims are to develop ECVET and improve mobility of workers in construction sector through creation of innovative Web application with built-in qualification comparison module based on transferred methodology of cascading training. These aims will be achieved through: transfer and test cascading training methodology, prepare ECVET training materials, extraction of basic elements from 4 curricula in order to compare qualifications, build Web application based on transferred toolkit and prepare training content together with target groups.
