We are officially on the ugly side of winter. The holidays have come and gone, school and work and family activities are back on track. We are busy again. Only now it’s cold, snowy, slushy, rainy, dry out your skin weather. We don’t feel our best and winter is conspiring with bad indoor air to keep us from looking our best.
Skin oils are the answer. Even if you have oily skin – skin oils are the answer. You just have to be a bit selective. Let’s go over some of the best and find one that will help you look and feel like yourself again.
Argan Oil
Works best on dry skin and hair and fine lines. Contains high levels of vitamin E, omega-3 fatty acids, and antioxidants. Fatty acids help our skin cells to create membranes, reduce inflammation, and help build collagen.
Avocado Oil
Works best on sensitive or irritated skin. High in vitamin E and omega-3 fatty acids, for proper cell function. Perfect for those with dry, itchy, or aging skin.
Coconut Oil
Works best on dry hair, eczema and sensitive skin due to the fatty acids. If your skin is sensitive to most commercial lotions and you are at your wits end, give coconut oil a try.
Jojoba Oil
Works best on Acne, eczema and psoriasis. For acne, jojoba acts as a deep cleanser. It penetrates deep into the hair follicle dissolving the sebum deposits and clearing out the blockage. For eczema and psoriasis, jojoba oil acts as moisturizer, relieving itching and dryness. It creates a protective layer over the skin against external irritants and inflammation is reduced by the anti-inflammatory property of the oil.
Olive Oil
Works best on very dry skin. It is a good all-around natural moisturizer and is extremely rich in
fatty acids and vitamin E. Because it's a heavier oil, those with acne prone skin should avoid
using it. In addition, studies have shown that the antioxidant content in olive oil may help
protect against skin cancer.
Rose Hip Seed Oil
Works best on age spots, scars and aging skin. Mother Nature's Retin-A without
the scary side effects. Omega-6 essential fatty acids and vitamins A
and C increase cell renewal, causing a significant change in any dark spots,
scars, and fine lines.
