We’ve been quiescent since July 2017, it is true. Since launching in July 2013, we’ve in fact experienced several periods of dormancy. Such is the nature of the lonely cave obsessive, even though our offices sit high atop some fancy building in Gotham.  But…now…we’re…BACK! (again)

Today, I found out that I will be *working in the same department as Ed Boyden this summer, and also probably working with optigenetic methods to study emotion and fear in the amygdala. Pretty excited.

I really like what I call logarithmic time planning, in which events that are close at hand are scheduled with finer resolution than events that are far off. For example, things that happen tomorrow should be scheduled down to the minute, things that happen next week should be scheduled down to the hour, and things that happen next year should be scheduled down to the day. Why do all calendar programs force you to pick the exact minute something happens when you are trying to schedule it a year out?
