Hi! I applied ED2 to Reed and I am so nervous/excited to hear back! So, my school runs on the semester system and our first semester doesn't end until early February, which is obviously too late for them to be considered for ED. Does this mean I will automatically be deferred?

Congrats on applying! Nope, you won’t be automatically deferred, but it’s possible we’ll ask for the grades from your first semester afterward.

I just submitted my EDII application the other day and I cannot stop thinking about it!! Any advice on how to get through these gruesome three weeks till decisions are out? P.S: You're doing an awesome job with the blog, I love it!

There’s nothing you can do at this point -- no more essays to write, no more tests to take. Let that knowledge relieve you a little bit as you wait and just think positive thoughts~

I had a question about placement for concurrent education. I'm in my ED II year and i was wondering if it is common for students to fail their placement? (since its a pass or fail) what happens if you fail? Are you kicked out of the program? Also what if i feel like i want to change my stream? Like from I/S to P/J or something? Is it too late because I'm already doing my placement in a high school??

If you’re thinking of changing your divisions, I suggest doing so ASAP because the requirements for each after EDI are different based on which of the streams you’re in and you need to meet those to graduate.

As for placement, I’ve never heard of anyone failing, but I have heard of people needing to switch placements for various reasons. You just need to follow all the rules and do your best with everything that is required of you in placement and things should be fine. 

If you fail, you will be ineligible to continue because you need a “P” in your PRAC to continue into EDIII.

An update for NYU Early Decision II applicants:

The admissions office has announced they will be releasing EDII decisions a bit earlier than anticipated (in waves), beginning today!

If any of you that have been asking me questions about NYU applied EDII, tell me if you're accepted. (I'm secretly emotionally-invested in your success.)

The NYU ED II forum on college confidential (yes I'm on college confidential...) has gotten so active in the past 24 hours, because as of right now we're 3 days and 20 hours and 27 minutes from finding out, so people are freaking out a lot.

This weekend I was so chill with NYU since I had my epiphany on Friday, but reading everyone argue on there is stressing me out... I think I need to stay away.
