I'm an advocate for Ed being comfortable in his situation so he never reveals his requited love for Oswald (or he never faces it completely) until something shakes his faith in Oswald's undying love for him

I keep saying it in my notes, but where is my "Jim and Oz are hooking up / have complex feelings regarding one another, but Ed keeps getting in the way of Jim pushing that any further because ofc Oswald is in love with the green bastard"? Moreover, where is Ed being jealous, where's Jim being protective? Where is it my dudes?
Dark Paradise by Lana Del Rey is a Nygmobblepot song specifically in Ed's POV after shooting Oswald / taking drugs
Just a quick message to say I love your blog, and that your Ed & Os smoking heacanons are 110% valid and I will die on the hill alongside you if it comes to it!
Oh my god thank you! I love your blog as well!
I have so many Thoughts about their smoking habits - and them in general:
- Oswald was a smoker even while his mother was around, but he would refuse to ever smoke in front of her or where she could see.
- Ed, on the other hand, picked it up from his parents (going off the backstory that the Riddler had shitty parents - beyond neglectful) but didn't start smoking until college. He had the Riddler in his head and college is stressful - he smoked even if he wasn't proud of it.
- Both viewed it as an activity for private / away from people. The idea of social smokers is foreign to them considering Social Smokers ONLY smoke with others.
- Oddly an intimate thing when Ed catches Oswald smoking for the first time. Even more so when Ed dared to ask for one.
- Ed knows he's fucked up when Oswald smokes after they blow up at each other. (And vice versa, but Oz is rather emotionally mature from the get-go of their friendship-then-relationship, so knows when he'll say something too harsh, thus it's much rarer).
- Like I was saying before, Ed would definitely roll his own but he'd be the person who'd have cologne / body spray + hand sanitizer after washing his hands so no one would smell it on him.
- Ed would also chain smoke during the worst times - I mean he literally took drugs and kept them going pretty consistently so I think Ed would smoke a good few when aggravated which happened more as the Riddler / Chief of Staff.
- Thus Oswald gets the expensive ones because, while they can afford it, Ed wouldn't waste something that costs so much. (In my head, Edward had money guilt - again parent issues but also because he's so thankful for Oz getting him a suit idk again possible projection on my part).
- Plus the benefit was that they'd smoke probably only one each time but they'd smoke together - a source of intimacy when maybe either or both are in a situation where physical contact just isn't The Right Thing.
