Maps is currently 37 and they used to investigate stuff on their own, often under batman's watch, as a teenager. They're a private detective who find themself working with the gcpd sometimes.
They also used to babysit Barbara, and they developed a relationship between father&child and coworkers with Jim that none of them really addressed. It is, however, quite usual to spot Maps at the Gordons table.
Maps is the adult that the younger members of the batfam go to when Bruce is pissing them off.
Barbara is currently 8. She goes to school with Dick and the two of them quickly became friend because they both struggled to fit in. She's already a good hacker for a 8-year-old, meaning that she has some basic knowledge and skills compared to others her age.
It's kind of awkward when Maps drops Barbara at the manor to see Dick because : Maps knows about the Bats, Bruce knows they know, Maps knows he knows they know, Dick doesn't know that Maps knows yet but Bruce thinks that he does, Dick is starting to think that Barbara knows, Barbara has absolutely no clue of what's happening but she does think that Batman has an unrequited crush on Bruce Wayne.

Bruce's cheek was a mess of tomatoe sauce and cheese. Jim smiled and grabbed a tissue for the kid.
The kid turned when called, looking away from his plate. He stared at Jim's hand, and then his face. Back to the hand, and then the toddler sitting in front. He nodded once and swallowed deeply.
It was adorable watching him lift himself with a hand pressed against the table to reach for the tissue... But what melted his heart was the way the kid grabbed the tissue, beaming fondly and extending his arm to reach small Barbara's cheek to messily clean her from the food she had been spilling all over her tiny body.
And lord, the way his babies laughed together. It made his eyes tingle with emotion.
The ten year old turned to him, a shy, proud smile across his chubby messy face, and Gordon was done.
A quickly turned around the table, lifting the boy in his arms and twisting him around until there was nothing but giggles and happiness echoing around the room.
