I decided to get a memorial piece of my ferret Strudel. I wanted to share it with you.
Four years ago Strudel weasel war danced over the rainbow bridge. She was a glorious, little troll who loved hoarding and bowling into water bottles. She lived a very long life; however, it still felt far too short. My only regret is that I didn’t get to be her first home.
I don’t know if I’ll ever stop mourning her. I still cry when I think about her, look at photos and videos of her, and even when I look at other ferrets. But...having this gif really warms my heart, and I’m so happy to have it.
Appreciate your pets folks. Keep ‘em close even when they’re the slinky spawn of Loki who steal your trash.
A big, huge thanks to Edalie-Chan on DA for making it for me. She has no idea how much this means to me.
Owing to a combination of not owning many good posters, and being too embarrassed to put up things like pokémon and ponies for muggle family members to see, I've gone through most of my life living in rooms with bare walls. A while ago I decided to amend this, and the above is my current progress in decorating the wall I spend the most time facing (it's behind my computer) with various cute, colourful, and inspirational pictures, which I have listed below:
Snow Miku (by Tigera). Snow Miku's 2014 design is so much cooler than her first few years, and I really like how this art looks with just an almost-monochrome palette. (Shop link, Art link)
Ahri. Her Foxfire skin I guess? I don't play League - Ahri being a Kumiho is one of the very few things I know about the game. I got this from a commercial stall at Birmingham Comic Con, and have no idea who the artist is.
Nerdcraft Link (by Hyper-Wil). Picked this up from the Nerdcraft stall at Birmingham Comic Con. Classic gaming icons everywhere!... and also Finn. I'm sure in ten years time he'll seem less out of place. (Art link)
Eeveelutions (by Jiayi). Thinking about it, putting a smaller print near the ceiling is a really bad idea, as I can't make out any of the detail on it. I might find a better spot on a different wall for this one :/ (Shop link, Art link)
Animal Crossing (by Jiayi). The only villager from this picture in my game is Erik (and Pascal, of course). My favourite from here is the pink dog - is it Cookie? If so, she's a lot cuter looking than in game! (Shop link, Art link)
Fairy Pokémon (by laughingbear). At first I kind of thought this picture looked very 'messy', but I bought it anyway, and now I really like it. Also doubles as a handy reminder of all the pokémon updated with Fairy types :3 (Shop link, Art link)
Animal Crossing bookmark (by Ameru). One of three bookmarks that came with my preorder of the Seasons ACNL fan artbook (not stuck to my wall, but very cute and highly recommended nonetheless). "Word to the wise: don't push yerself too hard, okay?" (Shop link, Art link)
Alice & Marisa prism card (by Jiayi). Both this and the bookmark above have a broken glass reflective effect, but the brighter colours here make it a lot more noticeable. Came free with my order from Jiayi's storenvy. (Shop link, Art link)
Sea (by laughingbear). This arrived with my order from laughingbear's shop. It just happened to be exactly the right size to fill a gap in my poster collage, which was very handy. (Art link)
Tears to Tiara 2. I cut this out from some excess game packaging (I was very stuck for what to fill the gap with). I've since replaced this with Melan's business card, after my little sister got some awesome Cardcaptor Sakura charms from them. (Shop link, Art link)
Ahri (by Edalie). And here's an actual business card, in case you can't imagine what Melan's might look like (despite linking the full size art for it) :3
Clock. I guess I took this picture at 7pm on my birthday? It only took me another month to make this post...
AmiAmi ad prints. AmiAmi seem to send one of these with every order (I've bought a few nendoroids from there). I particularly like the red and white one, but the other three will be replaced upon obtaining a few more postcard-sized prints. (Shop link)
Pokémon Black & White Starters (by crayonchewer). I was an Oshawott-hater when these three were first revealed. Now it's my favourite Gen 5 starter, Water starter, and my main in the latest Pokémon Mystery Dungeon. (Shop link, Art link)
Mane 6 and Elements (by Mi-eau). I got these five MLP postcards, and some posters, badges, and charms in a stock clearance special offer bundle. (Art link)
Queen Chrysalis (by Mi-eau). Some of the items were listed as being randomly picked from a list, or were a complete mystery, but luckily I was happy with the result (and figured that after the discount on the bundle, it wouldn't even matter if I wasn't). (Art link)
Princess Cadence (by Mi-eau). I didn't think to stick the postcards up on the wall until ages after receiving them, which lead to me unnecessarily bugging people about the sizes of their prints. Whoops. (Art link)
Nightmare Moon (by Mi-eau). I've got an A3 size poster of this same picture on another wall of my room, as well as a Vinyl Scratch poster. (Art link)
Non-mane 6 ponies (by Mi-eau). ???, Allonsy, Sweetie, HANDS, Melody and Wub make for a very bizarre set of elements. Certainly not very harmonious. (Art link)
Mikumiku bookmark (by Tigera). Another conveniently sized freebie! Its small size isn't even a problem, seeing as I tend to get pretty close to it to use the light switch. (Shop link, Art link)
Moonlight Flower. A christmas card my little sister drew for me. If only everyone else sent me similarly themed christmas cards...
Humanized My Little Pony (by Edalie). My favourite is Spike >_> I bought this from Edalie at Birmingham Comic Con, while she was still setting up her table for the day (which in hindsight was probably rather bothersome). I missed out on buying a couple more prints that I've since seen in her storenvy, which I guess she hadn't got around to setting out on the table, too. (Shop link, Art link)
Panda Annie (by gaby14link). Also bought from Edalie. This is a print from her League of Legends fan artbook, which would I probably would've bought if I actually played the game and knew more than five characters from it. (Shop link, Art link)
Lulu. Another print from the same artbook. These three prints also have different art on the back, which gives me the option of flipping them for variety. Not sure who the artist is, but I'd imagine it's one of the sixteen featured in the artbook. (Shop link)
Tristana & Teemo. Yordles! Aside from the five League characters on my wall, I know there's someone who says "Demacia" a lot, and a Baron. And that the new Summoner's Rift doesn't look as pretty as it used to. I'm not sure who the artist is on this one either. (Shop link)
Kagamine Len & Rin (by Tigera). I love the contrasting art styles between the Kagamine twins (and their amazing facial expressions) and the other vocaloid plushies in this picture. (Shop link, Art link)
Golden Sky Stories rules card (by Splikitt). One of a series of rules reminder postcards that I got as a backer of the Golden Sky Stories kickstarter. This one depicts a Raccoon Dog girl henge. I can find a preview image of the Dog girl henge, but art for the other eleven cards doesn't seem to exist online (there should also be Cat, Fox, Rabbit, and Bird, in both girl and boy versions). (Shop link, Art link)
Pachirisu (by crayonchewer). One of my favourite prints, with one of my favourite pokémon. I like how crayonchewer gives the choice of having their prints signed, though I guess with a lot of the prints on my wall the art's too busy to fit a signature anywhere really. (Shop link, Art link)
Noel, Tsubaki, and Makoto. A BlazBlue Continuum Shift move list on one side, and featuring my favourite fighting game character, Makoto Nanaya on the other (except not really, as she's just a chibi head squirreled away at the back of the picture).
Taokaka and Kaka-kitties. Actually, I'm just an icecar-spamming Jin scrub who can't input more than a quarter circle motion without involuntarily jumping, so lists of moves and combos are of no use to me. These get a lot more use as mini posters than they would otherwise.
Caruru Clover. He's not this cute in the game.
Animal Crossing Picnic (by laughingbear). If we could have picnics like this in the game, I'd quite willingly let my villagers eat all those baskets of bells instead of taking them to Re-Tail. (Shop link, Art link)
Wolf Children Snapshot (by laughingbear). This picture of a selfie photo is a cute concept, cutely executed. There's not enough fanart of Ame and Yuki. (Shop link, Art link)
Zorua (by Jiayi). I wasn't expecting to receive this, but was very surprised that it came together with the artbook and prints I ordered. It just so happens that I particularly like Zorua, though considering my order included a Zorua badge, this might not have been entirely down to luck :3 (Art link)
Whew, okay, I can see why I put off doing that for so long. I'm pretty sure buying all that stuff took less time than this post did...
Oh, and the plushies. Mew, Fennekin, and a mini Minccino. Also Derpy and Daring Do, which were my favourites from a selection of mass-produced minor characters a stall at Birmingham Comic Con had (its Cherry Jubilees were amazingly detailed, despite being an incredibly minor character). Not included are my Build-a-Bear Cutie Mark Crusaders - they're hidden away because I don't like brushable hair and one day I plan to try making plush hair for them.
