DID YOU KNOW - Aaliyah played the piano?

Yes, Aaliyah had some experience with the piano during her early career. While she wasn't widely recognized for playing instruments, she did express interest in learning and engaging with music production.

Per the "Aaliyah Remembered" biography book from Author, William Sutherland; As a child, Aaliyah took piano lessons from her grandmother; performing and singing in the church choir and at weddings. Sadly, after Aaliyah's grandmother passed, she lost the passion for it.

Per a separate interview via the Wax Poetics magazine, Aaliyah spoke about her aspirations to produce and write. She made a comment saying "I’m also trying to learn the mixing board, though it looks complicated. The studio is my first love.” In this same interview she admitted to receiving some piano instructions from RK during the production of her debut album, "Age Aint Nothing But A Number".

In a photoshoot with photographer, Eddie Otchere, they have a session where Aaliyah gets on the piano and shows she can play. Otchere photographs a brief moment of Aaliyah playing a song.

WHAT song she played during this photo shoot is unknown.
