Lonely Day

Such a lonely day, but it was his. As all his days were. And he couldn't stand them, but he never tried to change it. Maybe he worried about what would happen without the stability of his position. Or maybe he was just a coward.

Dave had a feeling it was the latter.

"Mr. Strider, we have the latest cut of your new movie ready to review," his secretary paged in over the phone.

Back to the daily grind. Not. "Okay, I'll check it later," Hah, what a joke.

Dave reached over to rip the phone cord out of the wall, leaving the line disconnected and himself unreachable. Then his attention returned to the massive full wall window behind his desk as the sky grew red as blood. Meteors fell like rain. The world was ending, but apparently no one else noticed.

He wondered if Dirk was safe. He wondered if he even had the right to worry about the little brat, he hadn't exactly been around much in a long time…

It was fitting the world was ending on such a boring, indifferent day. It fit Dave's life perfectly. Here he would die, doing what he'd done his entire life. Avoiding his little bro and isolating himself somewhere stupid. How ironic.

The building shook as a meteor came down far closer than others before it, wiping out an entire city block not three buildings away from his own. Any minute now it would be his turn.

"Hey little Bro," Dave spoke quietly to the empty room. "Hope you find a way to survive this," Another meteor struck. "Even if that's kinda impossible," The building shook with the approaching force of yet another meteor. "Wish I had been better for you…"

All Dave could see was fiery red. A meteor filled his entire window and kept growing. He was next. "Hope you know I love you, little bro."

The world turned red.

What did you have for breakfast today?

Do you like horror movies (and what kind)?

We missed breakfast today because we slept in after a bunch of weeks of early starts! I made nachos for lunch.

My pfp is the Incinerate! plasmid from Bioshock! I've used it as an avatar pretty much everywhere for years, and tumblr specifically I think I've had it 10+ years for sure.

Tertiary hobbies: I like to cross-stitch, sometimes make jewellery, dnd props, junk crafts (sticking shit together). I've really fallen off doing any crafts recently, I'm much more "buy craft materials I will definitely use (lying)" rn.

I do like horror movies! I like monster movies, I like ghost stories. We watched all the Saw movies a couple of years ago and they were a lot of fun. I'd not seen the first one before despite hearing it was real good (it was). The rest are of variant quality but there's definitely loads to love! I kind of like gore just bc blood but also from a 'love practical effects' pov. Horror movies is deffo not a solo activity for me though, being freaked out/scared together is more fun.
