good day sir do you have the time to talk about edenrui?
I posted a new chapter of the Libretto main story today and mentioned edenrui in the notes. So, I wanted to talk about them because GOD I LOVE EDENRUI
Edenrui is a ship between Eden Doucet and Rui Kamishiro, obviously. I decided to pair them together because Eden is my self-insert, and I, mod Eden, am in love with Rui Kamishiro. They met because they were in the same class and Rui showed him around Kamiyama.
Eden's like an occasional co-writer for WonderlandsxShowtime because Rui liked his writing so much. Both of the boys are very supportive of the other's interests and passions.
However, it's not all sunshine and rainbows, which is mostly Eden’s fault because he's extremely mentally ill. This is because of his people-pleasing behavior. He would put the happiness of Rui over his own happiness, and sometimes his own well-being. Because Rui is very observant, he'd able to clock Eden's shit, and whenever they arrange plans or something like that, he has to double-check with Eden and ask him if it's really something he wants to do.
I'm ngl Eden developed a crush on Rui because any man around his age who shows him basic human kindness is a potential partner. This is a huge sign that there is something deeply wrong with him, but anyone who has read the main story (even with the limited chapters that are out at the moment) would be able to tell that "Man, this Eden is like not okay dude."
He will get better of course, but it'll take some time. And Rui will be there to support him through every single step <3333
