Title: Letters
Pairing: Gajeel x Levy from Fairy Tail
Word count: 1,027
For: soberslender
Summary: during that one year only letters could keep them occupied.
A part of Levy knew that Gajeel wouldn’t keep to his“promise” in writing her back, that it would be a one sided kind of things outside him telling what his new address was now; but of course she didn’t mind it, just having contact with him and being able to tell him what she was doing was enough. So imagine her surprise when before she was even settled into the small apartment she was renting in Crocus to prepare for her journey ahead that she got the first letter from Gajeel.
That he was the one to start writing to her.
His handwriting was messy and big, it screamed Gajeel all over it in the few short lines that he sent to her but even so Levy couldn’t stop the huge grin that appeared on her face as her skin flushed pink:
Levy
Just seeing how ya are. Arrived here and all is good, Lily went on his own training we plan to meet up in a few months.
See ya
Gajeel
It wasn’t romantic or filled with his longing for her or how lonely he was but Levy knew Gajeel wasn’t like that and thus she didn’t expect it but it didn’t stop the hammering of her heart and how her face burned as well as ached from the smile on her face. The small action of him writing before her, and even writing at all! Spoke more than any kind of simple sweet nothings could ever.
So before anything else she rummaged through her bag, pulling a pen and paper out and began her own letter, which was full of more detail and longer than his. But this is how they were, opposites in so many ways that fit so perfectly with each other. Levy understood what he was trying to say and do when he wrote to her, and it made the small mage feel like she was flying that the weight of worry and sadness lifted from her.
During the months his letters became longer, though of course no less Gajeel than the first one was. It was fun reading what he was doing, or what people annoyed him or how he got into a fight with the guy he was working for before he even knew that was his boss! Her heart stopped though as she came to the end of the letter, in shaking writing more than before he informed her that he would be in the town the letter would be coming too even before the letter arrived.
That he wanted her to wait for him even if it did.
Which caused the blue hair mages heart to drop into her stomach like a cold rock, her body burning as she jumped up running to the train station; it had only been six months since they last saw each other and so much had changed for her since then. Her normally short hair had grown much longer, it was now covering her guild mark almost, she had to pull it up into a messy bun at times since she still was not yet used to it, of course she was more toned as well, her skin tanned from the training she did outside as well the bags under her eyes from staying up late to read.
Levy panted as she reached the wooden platform, the train was stopped and only a few people left the train, which was expected for being so late at night. Maybe she was wrong, maybe he changed his mind! So much can change in just a few days, weeks, or months. That’s something Levy had learned very hard the last year or even few years if you counted the ones she missed. But she stood there her skin developing goose bumps as the wind blew, it was just early spring now but still too cold for the tank top and shorts she was wearing.
Then she saw him.
Gajeel looked taller; if that could even be possible, his long thick hair was now chopped off up to his ears. It was so strange to see as her brown eyes drank in this new form….this new Gajeel. The air caught in Levy’s throat as she just watched him, her blue hair blowing into her face as it came out while she was running, and then in that moment he finally looked her way staring at her.
“Gajeel!” she yelled out as she ran to him, heart pounding as her chest burned while her cheeks ached from smiling so much, and it seems like something also snapped into him as he ran towards her. And in moments, seconds it seemed Levy was wrapped up into his strong, warm arms her face smooched into his chest that she could hear and almost feel his hammering hard, his calloused hands shifting through her hair as he held her tightly.
Gajeel was a man of few words as the hug finally broke his face softer than she has ever really seen it, or maybe it was the distance that made her notice how different he was. While slowly his face came closer to hers and finally, like a fantasy or scene in a book come true his chapped lips touched hers.
Levy didn’t mind as she laid her head on his chest, tracing the new marks and scars that weren’t there before, her head airy and cloudy as he hummed and played with her hair. For a moment Levy felt she could pretend that nothing changed as she closed her eyes listening to the slow pounding of his heart, her skin drinking in the warmth of his skin.
“I’ll write.” His said softly in his gruff voice which Levy just smiled, snuggling into him.
They could do this, just a few more months, they can do this.
“I missed you.”
“Me too.”
Letters sometimes weren’t enough when all you craved was the warmth and feel of his heart, but they had and were going to be.

Title: Sun Rise
Pairing: Natsu x Lucy from Fairy Tail
Word count: 433
For: prosperan
Summary: Lucy wanted the year to start off good.
New Years
Lucy had spent the whole day cleaning and getting ready for the New Year’s making sure everything was in order especially after the year they had (and Lucy always had a bit of bad luck) the new year needed to be full of good luck. Of course it seemed easier to do with Natsu and Happy laying on her bed happily asleep the room warm as it snowed outside.
It was cozy.
She finally sat down on the bed her hand on his back as she felt herself lay halfway on top of him. It was really cozy inside her apartment, and it helped with how warm Natsu was always and how hard she worked that day. So a small nap wouldn’t be too much would it?
Only a small one.
_____
“Lucy~” his voice came crashing into her head causing her brown eyes to snap open as she sat up banging her head into his. “HEY! I was only tryin’ to wake you up Luce!” Natsu grumbled as he held his forehead.
“What time is it?!”
“I guess after Midnight.” He shrugged as Happy went to the window pointing out to it.
“Looks like the sun is coming up!” he said in his high voice and the only thing Lucy could do was bury her head into her hands. It wasn’t the worse thing in the world and beat the new year’s she had with her dad…but it really fit into her life that she would fall asleep; But then a thought snapped into her head as she stood up grabbing Natsu’s hand as he and Happy were eating the food she had prepared.
“We’re going up to the roof!”
“What?!”
She breathed hard standing ontop of her apartment building in the cold hands on her hips as she stared at the light breaking through the clouds on the horizon. If there was anything Lucy would be doing it was to see the first sunrise and then going to the shrines.
“You like New Years’ huh?” Natsu said as he stood next to her, very close so she wasn’t cold but Lucy only nodded her head leaning onto his shoulder.
“It was a rough year; I like to think things will be better next year.”
“Of course they will!” he laughed smiling at her, “because we’re Fairy Tail!” she nodded and slowly under his breath she almost missed as the sun blasted over the horizon, “and because I’m with you.”

Title: Secret Santa
Pairing: Gajeel x Levy from Fairy Tail
Word count: 961
For: prosperan
Summary: First xmas since Gajeel joined the guild and he ends up picking the last person he would want to be secret santa for.
Gajeel didn’t like the holidays at all, it was when people got more annoying or showed their worst side. So around this time of year he could feel himself growing crankier even during the time he stayed with Berno it was never fun and he barely celebrated it even then let along now. Of course things changed like they always did in this god forsaken guild and he hated that he would stop by the windows that sold books and catch himself “browsing” for it.Fuck him for even entertaining the idea, the girl barely just started to talk to him and look him in the eye. Did he really think Gajeel Redfox , him of all people could get her a present?! Since he knew all too well that this shitty season and holiday was just for lovers of friends and he just had the luck in joining the guild that was obsessed with friendship than anything he ever seen.
He really hated them at times.
What kind of God did he piss off to get stuck in that “secret Santa” shit and to get Levy Mcgarden of all people?! It really felt like someone was taking a piss at him, not that he disliked it very much the opposite of that but it barely been months since the events and it felt strange; Just so very strange when she would sit with him suddenly, or as him to go on a job with her. He knew that she forgave him on some level since her idiots treated him better, but all he could feel was strange.
Waiting for the moment she pulled the rug from out from under him.
So he stood, face obviously looking pissed off as he heard whispers around him and a child crying. Not that he cared of course! Gajeel Redfox didn’t give a shit at all about other people let along with shrimpy blue haired ones that were too nice for their own good.
“What are you doing Gajeel?” a soft voice suddenly came out causing him to clench his jaw recognizing it immediately as he turned around. And there she was! Levy Mcgarden staring up at him with those impossible brown eyes as he broke the eye contact rather not wanting to invite her in more than he had already at that point. “Are you Christmas shopping?” she didn’t’ skip a bit and acted like nothing was wrong as she stood next to him humming softly as she stared at the display of clothes he was now looking at.
Neither of them said anything, it wasn’t an awkward silence like he was used to when it came to her but that had changed and Gajeel wasn’t sure if he liked it.
“Do you need any help?” he could tell she was trying, things were better after that festival but…he gave her a side glance she was smiling and had none of the nervous tics he was used to coming from her. “I’m bugging you aren’t I?” and she looked up at the clock tower, “I need to be going too I got Cana in the secret santa thing and found really good alcohol so haha.” She smiled waving, “see you at the party Gajeel!” and left.
He gave a sigh, he really had no idea how to deal with people from this guild, but most of all he had no idea how to deal with someone who had no ill will towards him anymore. Not even Berno could give him the answer only to laugh at him and asking if she could meet her someday, that damn hag.
With that he walked away and into one of the cheaper stores, he was Gajeel Redfox! Damn it he didn’t give a shit about this holiday shit anyway she would just have to get what she gets!
“What’s this?” he asked eyeing her suspiciously as Levy, who was now wearing a Santa dress like the other girls in the guild, handed him a present.
She puffed her cheeks out, her cheeks red. “It’s Christmas it’s a present! I saw it and thought you would be interested.” With that she shoved it in his chest and stared at him her arms crossed. “Open it.”
“Tch.” He smiled at her, “ya got some nerve don’tcha.”
“I guess.” She laughed as he opened it only to have a book about dragons in his hands, specifically about dragons that ate metals of some kind. He looked at her shock on his face. “It was something I came across.” She laughed nervously “So…”
“It’s fine.” He turned away then ignoring her worried look and how for a moment her hands reached out before turning back into her chest. “Here.” With that he shoved his present into her face, still in the bag and everything. Levy took and it and knelt down opening it.
“A gargoyle?” her voice light and full of surprise, it was just something to put on her desk and miniature statue but her brown eyes light up as he turned and looked at her. “How did ya know?”
“Bunny girl.” He shrugged it was a lie but she didn’t need to know that he overheard her once talking about them to the idiots that trailed her and how much she liked them, it stuck with him since he didn’t expect it. That’s all.
“Thank you.” She smiled up at him and he nodded and it seemed like fate that said Bunny girl aka Lucy grabbed Levy and took her away so he could slip out, his hand tightly holding onto the book as he glimpsed down at it.
Maybe the holidays and this guild wouldn't be so bad.

Title: Family
Pairing: Kenshin x Kaoru from Rurouni Kenshin
Word count: 2,022
For: amehoshi
Summary: Just before baby Kenji is born.
Pregnancy was a nightmare; at least it was for Kaoru as she lay down on her futon not even able to change out of her nightwear from how heavy her body felt now, the child continuously kicked her at times and seemed to somehow feel that she should go to the bathroom constantly. The women in the village said the child would have to be a boy with how much pain and stress he was putting his mother through already! She could only laugh along with them; since at this point she couldn’t help but agree with them.
Who would think such a mild temper man Kenshin was that his son (seemingly) would be so hyperactive to this point. And it frustrated Kaoru to no end, which was usually so active with the dojo that she would basically be bedridden until the child decided he was ready to be born. She hated it but at the same time felt she should enjoy it, if things were like this already during pregnancy she didn’t want to imagine what kind of child they would be once born.
At least she didn’t have anything to worry about, at least in a perfect world she could trust her husband in taking care of everything (like he always did he was better at housekeeping than she was!) but it seemed that being pregnant changed something in Kaoru, all she wanted to do was get up and clean. To make sure everything was ready for when the child finally came, that they wouldn’t be short of anything and be a happy child even as they seemed to be wild right now in her belly. So slowly she started to move herself up to stand, she needed to walk. The women in the village have told her that moving around during the last weeks could encourage the child to finally come out.
And boy did she want him to come out now.
“Kaoru?” a deep voice suddenly came through the room, the sliding doors opening with a bang, “What are you doing?!” and it seemed like in seconds from that Kenshin was by her side with his hand on the small of her back and the other holding her hand. She couldn’t help but smile at him as he helped her up. Kenshin really was amazing of a man especially during this time she could tell how worried he was. If it was up to him he would be the one carrying the child and everything, a part of her wondered how he would take when she gave birth.
But she didn’t want to think about that now.
“I’m okay.” She breathed, “I just need to walk around, will you walk with me? I need to be outside! I hate being inside!” she pursed her lips then as she puffed her cheeks out, her eyes wide and hoping they showed a pleading look, “Please Kenshin..” her voice soft and a low and she saw him close his eyes which made her break into a smile.
Kaoru: 1 and Kenshin: 0
“Fine, let me walk with you though okay?” his voice was gentle as he helped her up smoothing out her white nightgown that she got as a gift from a an old family friend, saying it was the recent fashion now and she seemed to enjoy it immensely as it gave her belly lots of room. “It’s cold so put this on.” He stated as he seemingly grabbed his coat he wore with his hakama. Kaoru looked at him wanting to argue with him about it but knowing that despite what she wanted to think, and how it would be if things were different, it wouldn’t be an argument she would win. And sometimes it was okay to let herself be taken care of since she knew Kenshin needed to it more than she really did. She gave a content sigh as she wrapped her arms around his laying her cheek against his upper arm.
It felt good to be on her legs again even if it was a little wobbly at first. Just to be able to walk despite the fact she couldn’t see her feet anymore (even forgetting she had them!) but now she felt some control of her body again. “It feels so nice.” She murmured. He laughed at her slightly as she spoke causing her to open her eyes and look at him with a slight glare, “what’s so funny, Kenshin?”
“Oro?”
“Laughing at your pregnant wife, I can’t believe you.” She gave a fake scoff. She wasn’t able to go on her usual tempers, which was a relief for many, but it seemed that wasn’t needed so much. Maybe it was maturity finally setting in; at least she liked to think so. She looked up again and he was covering his mouth with his sleeve laughing at her. Kaoru couldn’t help herself as she reached up and pulled and pinched his cheek.
“Kaoru!!!”
She still had a few more weeks to be fully mature she believed.
“That’s what you get! Hehe!” and she took a deep breath in as she looked up at the sky it was a clear blue, winter was finally waning away and it was getting warmer and the trees had buds starting to sprout. It seemed like the perfect time to have her child, hopefully, she thought as she rested her hand on her stomach. “Are you scared, Kenshin?” she didn’t look at him as she said this continuing to look at the sky, drinking in the wind that blew and the coolness that bite at her skin, only hearing his soft ‘oro’ at that.
“Of course I am.” They finally looked at each other as he said that and she gave him a soft smile understanding just what he was thinking and feeling and why. Slowly she turned to stand in front of him, her big belly pushing against his flat stomach as she reached up and touched the scarred side of his face, her fingers tracing the “x” mark as he closed his eyes, his hand reaching up and touching hers, it was calloused and rough but so gentle and warm.
“Me too.” She finally whispered, “I’m so scared” Kaoru said this as she pressed her forehead against his chest biting her lip. It was always in the back of her mind, that this was something she couldn’t do that it wasn’t the right time. So much could happen to the child, to her and to Kenshin. The fact the chance she could end up dying in birth weighed heavily on her as each day passed, more so as she heard the stories from the women in the villages of births they saw that ended badly as well. It was something she never wanted to put Kenshin through with a child; she knew he would never be able to handle it.
“You don’t have to be.” He murmured as he pressed his lips into her hair, “It's normal I believe and you will be a great mother to the child.” She opened her eyes as he said these things, going on and on about how he saw what a wonderful mother she would be. Part of her wanted to stop him, to push away and yell that he didn’t understand, but Kenshin understood he knew her better than anyone else and she knew him. That a lot of what he was telling her was for him as it was for her. To talk about the future, the fact that it wouldn’t just be the two of them anymore.
That they would have a family together and despite all the fear and anger that got her through to that point as she looked up at him her hands coming up and cupping his face as she stood on her tip toes and kissed him.
And that was when the child decided to announce that he was ready to come.
Kaoru really didn’t remember much after that as water gushed out of her and she doubled over in pain, only the sound of his worried voice as he picked her up and ran it was like she was weightless but it didn’t register as her arms wrapped around her belly, the pain flowing through her.
The next thing Kaoru knew was that she was waking up to excited and happy voices in the room and her body feeling horribly sore as she groaned and tried to move and speak, her throat dry as she croaked out “Kenshin?” her hands moving from habit to her stomach, which was not round and full anymore, but soft and squishy.
The child was gone.
“Kaoru!” Kenshin’s voice echoed full of happiness and excitement it seemed as she felt someone help her to sit up against some pillows, It was then her it seemed her mind stopped being so cloudy as she saw Kenshin kneeling next to her holding a small bundle in his arms, her body shook and felt warm like she was on fire her eyes blurred from the tears as she held out her arms almost on instinct and Kenshin didn’t hesitate at all in giving her the baby, helping her hold him as she softly moved the blanket to see their face. Soft, pale face, eyes closed as he breathed softly in peace. “It’s a boy.” Kenshin said as she looked up at him as if he read her mind.
“A boy, they were right.” She laughed bending down slightly to kiss his soft forehead feeling his warmth. So strange how for nine months he grew in her and now was there in her arms and it was like nothing changed it was so natural it felt all her fears and worries were for nothing. “He’s beautiful.”
“Like his mother.”
“Like his father” she retorted laughing, “Wow just… Is he hungry?” and the look Kenshin had on his face then made Kaoru want to burst out laughing as he nodded explaining to her all that happened with village women coming over and helping her to give birth and that she passed out from the pain right after he came out, though she had only been asleep for a few hours so not much was missed. Kaoru just nodded softly at Kenshin’s story and explanation, her fingers and eyes exploring the baby’s face and fingers, feeling as he grabbed onto her finger that she couldn’t help but feel some tears spill from her eyes from that. “I’m still scared” she said, her body feeling tired but nothing could pull her away from him.
“I am too.”
“But I’m happy…I don’t feel as terrified even though I am scared.” She looked up at her husband, “Does that make sense?” He smiled and nodded.
“It does.”
She nodded again, “I want to name him Kenji.” She said, “I… Please.” She said as she washed the baby, now Kenji, slowly opened up his eyes that looked like a dark purple, just like his father's. “Kenji and Kenshin.” She said, “My boys.”
That night she laid in the bed, Kenshin next to her and for the moment the baby between them, both were asleep and despite the difficult day and how heavy her body felt and everything, Kaoru could not will herself to sleep. It was like a dream, that none of this was actually happening and that she would wake up and still be that 17 year old girl who had just lost her father.
But it wasn’t a dream this was her life now as she slowly with her pointer finger traced her son’s features, realizing again, feeling again, that she was now a mother and wondering in the back of her mind what it would be like if her own mother was able to be with her now. What she would tell her, what her father would tell her.
The “ifs and buts” floated in her head but it didn’t really matter because all of it leads to this moment under the moonlight with her family.

Title: Just Schoolmates
Pairing: Jellal x Erza from Fairy Tail
Word count: 3, 389 this was to be only 2k I know but I went overboard I'M SORRY
For: estella-may
Summary: It wasn't exactly how Erza wanted to be close to him again, but she would take what she could get. HS AU Fake dating
Erza was never one to be pushed into anything, or even lie to cover her weakness up or to get out of it. She was a justice kind of person; the class president who would protect those weaker than her and made sure the bullies got what they deserved. She was that kind of person, admired by many (at least what she was told she felt she didn’t deserve such admiration, she was just doing what was right) so how in the end, did her “rivalry” or “feud” with a first year named Minerva go to the point she would lie about the most silly thing?
That she had a boyfriend?
It had started as a regular day, until she ran into the aforementioned girl, which started into a small “cleaver” remarks against each other, until Minerva brought up the fact she had gotten a boyfriend, who went to the local boys private school (but she didn’t recognize who it was, which fit with how Minerva was, not to be with someone that outshone her) which, begrudgingly she was admittedly was jealous that Minerva had found some kind of happiness that she never seem able to get, but she pushed it aside and congratulated her.
Until Minerva asked if she had a boyfriend, in a way that she knew that Erza was going to say she didn’t and embarrass her in front of the crowd that always gathered when they fought physically or verbally. So maybe things would have been different if Lucy or Levy were there to pull her away and calm her down, or even Natsu and Gray! But no it had happened before she met up with her friends, but it was excuses Erza knew that, she didn’t have to say what she did, but she did.
“I do have a boyfriend!” her face flushed and burned, her heart pounded from nerves and excitement from seeing the expression on Minerva’s face change, flush and her mouth turn down into a frown, her pretty eyes slitting as she spoke.
“Oh really, senpai….Who is the lucky guy? I can’t believe you never told me the happy news since we’ve known each other so long.” She stepped closer to her, “or are you telling a lie miss class president?” everyone around them started to murmur, it was strange that the admired Erza would lie about something so silly!
“I….I’m not lying! It was just something we wanted to keep private since well….” She didn’t know what to say, it seemed Erza’s brain had shut down, she was lying why she couldn’t just yell it was a joke she wanted to see how Minerva would react!
Why couldn’t she say this!
Maybe because a part of her wanted it to be true, since only one name and face repeated in her brain as the conversation went on and on, she should have just ran off to find Lucy who would know what to do for her.
Maybe that would have happened if that said person didn’t suddenly show up and ask what was going on, his hand heavy on her shoulder as he stared at her and then at Minerva, his voice waking her up to reality.
So she said it.
“This is my boyfriend Jellal!” she smiled, her hand up on his hand and everything went quiet, the tension building between everyone especially the three, Erza didn’t have to look up to know what kind of expression Jellal was wearing, the fact how Minerva looked was enough.
So hopefully Jellal was kind enough to play along with her, right?
It was going to be a bad day was all Jellal knew when he woke up that day; His breakfast burned, and it seemed the electricity was out in his apartment which caused him to have no alarm, and only the cold water worked in the shower, and he missed the late bus which caused him to have to walk to the school since he really had nothing better to do at that point.
It couldn’t get worse now, could it?
He was always wrong it seemed.
It was then he ran into her, well not literally but was passing by when he saw the group gathered around two people, who knew exactly who it was from just by seeing her hair, that shock of red he would recognize from anywhere. Which, from his better instincts, he walked towards to see what was going on. He knew that Erza got into trouble time to time; he had been on the student council when she was a first year, and heard about her and her friends many adventures, which caused her sometimes to meet him to explain why (showing she didn’t remember him which is another story) but he would always recognize her and want to see what exactly she was doing now.
Which was how it all started it seemed.
He had made his way through the crowd and could see that whatever they were talking about (dating?) was getting heated and by her stance Erza was about to do something crazy, and her blonde friend with the pony tail wasn’t anywhere to be seen (she seemed to be the only one with sense to calm Erza down) so all he could do was grab her shoulder, hoping it lead to be able to talk to her, and ask what was going on.
“This is my boyfriend Jellal!” was all she said, in a loud voice that he swore he was dreaming, that he had never woken up that day or God decided he hadn’t suffered enough. Because there was no reason for Erza Scarlet to say that about him, about them, and because of that he had no idea how to react as everyone started to react to the declaration?
Especially the girl with the twin buns whose shock melted off and became suspicion as she stared at them; “Really?” she said in her cool deep voice, “I see then senpai…” she seemed to spit that word out, he wished he could see Erza’s expression but could only watch from behind and her body movements which were stiff and nervous, knowing she was getting herself caught. It surprised him (really shouldn’t have if he remembered her first year adventures) but either way it didn’t matter as the bun head kept talking, “then why don’t we have a double date?”
Erza was too good and would never go that far and would tell the truth if Jellal wasn’t there, which wouldn’t be a bad idea, but Jellal wasn’t that smart and maybe somewhere deep inside he wouldn’t mind, okay he wanted to go on a date with her but it would never happen because she deserved better than him, so maybe it was wrong for him to do what he did next but he really didn’t have a choice it seemed.
Right?
“That would be fun, wouldn’t it Erza…chan” he said the last part spontaneously, it’s what couples did right? Erza turned and looked at him, her expression confused and slightly annoyed but he smiled at her touching her hair (he loved her hair that deep red) “I’ve been neglecting you so a date should be fun, right?” he was on thin ice as his own smile faulted, he could feel the sweat on the back of his neck and his hands. Erza blinked her expression serious.
“I think that would be fine.”
The rest of the “meeting” was a blank for Jellal as Minerva and Erza exchanged some contact and everyone around them parted, surely by the time he got to class everyone would know that Jellal Fernandes and Erza Scarlet were dating and he would never hear the end of it from Ultear and Meredy. But now it was just the two of them, stuck in the position with him right behind her, hand on her shoulder still, but it ended in a second as she turned around and looked at him, her expression sullen.
“I’m sorry…!” they both said at once and stopped, Jellal couldn’t help but laugh a bit and he could hear her as well.
“First time I’ve heard you laugh since…” she stopped and looks down, either from shyness or something else he wasn’t sure, he could feel his heart pound and every breath he took. Part of him wanted to say something, anything but he wasn’t sure.
“It’ll be a week from now, if you want we can do some kind of public…break up….” She stopped when he touched her shoulder, her face was red and eyes wide. Erza was cute even if she didn’t realize it.
“It is fine, I’m sure we can fake it until then? Not like this girl will stalk you to make sure it’s real.” He saw Erza’s eyes widen and roll her cheeks puffing a bit and he knew instantly that of course this girl would, she’s someone Erza knows, and she has to be strange.
“I need to go!” and with that she was gone.
Jellal just stood there and looked down at his hand, and maybe it wasn’t such a bad day at all.
Well only slightly.
______________________________________________
“You did what?!” Lucy yelled, her hands slamming on the desk, “are you stupid Erza?! Why?!” while she did this Erza motioned for her friend to be quiet as Levy just laughed slightly.
“Lu-chan you should let her finish, you don’t want the boys to know do you?” Levy said finally her hand moving and touching Lucy’s, Levy seemed to have this way in getting everyone to calm down, Erza never understood it even she fell victim to it at times. With that Lucy sat back, but still was obviously annoyed at what happened. “Still Erza are you sure you want to do this? I mean Minerva isn’t stupid she’ll realize it.”
“I’m sure it’ll be fine since Jellal is okay with it…” her voice was soft and a bit wistful, it’s not like she loved the idea but she didn’t hate it either. She had known Jellal since she was a child (he didn’t seem to remember though since he left in middle school after something happened) she pushed her hair back that covered her left eye and then sighed. She defiantly didn’t hate it, but this wasn’t what she wanted at all. “Minerva will get bored and the date will go fine and we’ll break up then or after it. And by next week it’ll just be a memory.” She crossed her arms under her breasts and looked out the window, it was a strange sight to see the energetic and encouraging class president so down.
Lucy frowned as she stared at her friend, she didn’t like it at all.
Ultear had a good laugh when she found out and for the rest of the day kept teasing him by saying that maybe God or luck was finally on his side wasn’t it good? He finally got his precious Erza but she didn’t push it too far, since being miserable was a state he was always in and good at, so it got boring after a while.
Until she caught him smiling to himself as he started (and failed) to draw her in his notebook.
“You’re kind of creepy Jellal, but Erza seems to be the kind to like that.” She smiled at him, “Though she might feel insulted to see this…” which caused him to cover it with his hand and stick his lip out into a pout but melted when he saw a familiar blonde at the doorway glaring at him.
“I’ll be back.” He got up and went to see what she wanted, which on consisted in glaring as she looked at a piece of paper she was reading from, she wasn’t as confrontational as her other friends were if he remembered right.
“You…better not hurt…” she shook her head then and crumpled the piece of paper up and glared at him. “Don’t mess with her or hurt her!” and ran off, Ultear joined him and asked what that was about and he could only laugh, smiling.
The week up until the date was as normal as any other kind of week, except they met each other before school started, in lunch, and after school and their respective clubs. It was an enjoyable experience to have for Jellal at least, to be around her and talk to her more than he had since middle school, not just long off stares and conversations from the year before.
He could almost believe that she remembered him, and that something could come out of it that maybe it didn’t have to be fake it anymore.
Of course he was wrong, nothing in Jellal’s life could ever go right it seemed.
Erza was a wreck those first few days of that long week, panicking on what to do or say, all of it was to be faking it and hell maybe Minerva wouldn’t be strange enough to want to stalk, but she knew the girl better than to think otherwise. Plus it was a chance, to maybe, somehow get her old friend back and anything else can come later if she wished hard enough.
But at first it was awkward, only talks of her friends and what had been going on, about how Levy was dating the new transfer student that had beat up her friends once and got into it with Natsu, or how Natsu and Gray blew up the science room, and gym and a few other rooms which he just laughed saying he wondered why things where under construction.
It felt normal at times, but of course it wouldn’t be, they changed too much and his eyes would always seem to be on her left eye, or the time he brushed the hair that covered it and opened his mouth, but closed it and changed the conversation to something else.
Erza didn’t hate it at all.
But she couldn’t say that she loved it, it was obvious he was holding himself back, when their hands or arms brushed he pulled back like he was electrocuted, all of it was fake and the moment that it was revealed or they broke up in a few days, it would go back to how it was; Stolen looks and a few conversations here and there and then nothing.
He would graduate and leave again.
That was how it always seemed to go, but Erza was different now, stubborn to her core and finally got a taste of how it could have always been like hell would she let him run again. Not now after everything, so with that thought as he stood up mentioning he had to get to his job she grabbed his hand.
“Stay.” She looked down, she was brave but not that brave but…she closed her eyes and then looked up her brown eyes connecting with his, face burning and his tattoo looked like a deeper red that she concentrated on that as the seconds seemed to stretch to minuets.
“We shouldn’t do this anymore until the date, Erza.” He looked down away from her, his blue bangs shadowing his eyes as Erza blinked, connecting to the world finally. “We’re just schoolmates okay?”
Schoolmates.
“Really?” she stood up, he was taller than her and she always hated that, “just schoolmates? Can you look me in the eye and tell me that Jellal…what happened was an accident and it’s still there, why are you acting like…like…” she stopped and bite her lip there was a lot she wanted to say, “its fine Jellal, you’re my friend…my precious friend even if you don’t consider me one.” Her fists clenched as she looked up at him, no tears or anger or resentment.
Which didn’t stop the slap that went across his face or the pain that shook through him as she yelled at him for being selfish and leaving, no running but walking (or stomping) since Erza was one to refuse to show weakness in front of him.
They were just schoolmates, right?

“You really make the worst life choice I ever saw for someone in high school and that’s saying something.” Ultear said as she stared at him, he was over at her house to tell her what had happened.
“Please don’t remind me.”
“No, I think you need reminded” she crossed her arms, “you’re being ridiculous about this. What happened in the past is in the past, if you let it control it you won’t be happy Jellal. That’s why everything bad seems to happen to you and you called the one good thing just a schoolmate.” She laughed, “You really amaze me.”
He had laid his head on the table and he lifted it up resting his chin as he looked at her. “She hates me now.”
“You kind of deserve it.”
He stood up, “The dates tomorrow and after that….”
“Well Jellal, what will you do now?”
He didn’t get any sleep that night, and he knew he looked it when he got up that morning. It was an all-day date, seeing that Minerva didn’t stalk them that week, and probably wanted to see how they acted outside school even then. He sighed, just what had he gotten himself into.
At least he was able to take a hot shower this time.

Erza looked beautiful when he arrived, and angry she was good at giving glares and the cold treatment as she smiled at him and called him “Fernandes-san” but it didn’t last long as she stole looks at him and asked him how his cheek was.
It was something of a start; maybe the day wouldn’t be bad at all.
Until Minerva arrived, her boyfriend was plain just a regular face and black hair nothing to talk about and it seemed Minerva thought the same, since he never spoke at all if he wasn’t agreeing with her. Part of him wondered if maybe the relationship was also a fake one to one up Erza in some area she knew she could win.
But the date went on without a hitch, his hand felt hot as it held Erza’s, it was strong and calloused from who knows what (fights she kept a crowbar in her bra somehow or at least what he heard) and how she held onto his arm and would smile at him, the blush on her face and how excited she was when he bought her more cake at the restaurant.
Jellal could almost fool himself in believing that yesterday didn’t happen and everything was real.
The end of the date was at the train station as Minerva and her boyfriend left, she gave them one more glare as if watching them before saying good bye. He could see the surprise on Erza’s face as the other didn’t say anything snarky, it really seemed like a dream; finally one that didn’t end in a nightmare.
The train was gone and she spoke.
“I don’t want it to be fake.”
He looked at her, eyes wide as she said that, “I know that you feel because of the accident that hurt my eye you don’t deserve to be around me, but I rather not go through that again. You gone without a word only to see you and you seem to not remember me.” Her face was soft as she said this, so much more vulnerable like the armor was off of her heart. “I like you.”
“Erza…” he spoke, he felt cold and his heart pounded he could see that she felt the same as she pushed back a piece of her hair revealing her eye, it was hazy clouded something not needed and hide away. It was an accident, he didn’t even remember how it happened just that he had blood on his hands and she cried and cried, and then his family had moved. He stepped closer to her his arms out as he grabbed her hugging her close. “I’m sorry.”
It wasn’t a rejection and she seemed to know that as she hugged him tighter, it was slightly hard to breathe but he didn’t say anything.
This took longer than it should have I'm so sorry!

Title: New Normal
Pairing: Panther Lily, Gajeel x Levy
Word count: 767
For: rainbowpandaas
Summary: It was a comment that Lily had said without thinking.
“You know Gajeel, its getting kind of lonely around here” the exceed smirked at his partner whose face flushed an amusing shade of red and a look of annoyance rose on him as well. Panther Lily couldn’t really pass the chance of teasing his dear friend about finally, after so long it seemed, he got the guts to finally take Levy Mcgarden out on a date. A few consistent dates that left Gajeel coming home in the morning in the same clothes, and going on more missions by himself with her alone which changed when Lily tagged along for obvious reasons.
Even so it was still a little lonely, but to Lily it was a throw away comment and he knew this ‘phase’ of their relationship would end soon plus he was happy for the both of them. Levy and Gajeel were the ones he cared for most when it came to those he was with in the guild and seeing them happy and finally together made him happy as well. So, really, maybe it was selfish to mention his loneliness or he really did want Gajeel to do something about it, but he didn’t expect it to the go the way it did.
It wasn’t really noticeable at the beginning, things seemed normal but Gajeel stayed home a few nights more than he had been (which was a lot since before was almost every night) and Levy started more conversations with him than before. Considering they were on friendly terms and usually had a few good conversations a day, this sudden burst was a little suspicious but he paid no mind to it at all, really.
Then it became constant.
It had come to a head one night as they all sat down together for a so called ~movie night~ that had now been declared to happen every weekend that they were able to do it for. When usually Panther Lily wouldn’t have minded at all, if not for the last week he had been basically glued to them doing some activity. He sighed as he sat between them which really did nothing because he could hear her laughing and telling Gajeel to stop whatever he was doing that it didn’t take a genius to know that despite the well intentions he was a third wheel in it all, and he desperately wanted to do things on his own now.
“I’m leaving” he finally said, jumping from the couch and turning to look at them, he couldn’t help but feel slightly guilty at the looks on their faces. Even if Gajeel tried to hide it, Levy’s face fell as she bites her lip, her hands stretched out.
“Did we do something—I mean…I should leave instead?” Levy stood up then, “I should go.” She repeated, looking at him and then at Gajeel as if she wasn’t sure what to do next, “Since I’m intruding…I’m sorry Lily.” She looked down and then suddenly he couldn’t help but laugh.
“What don’t gof; either of ya!” Gajeel’s deep and obviously annoyed voice rang out suddenly causing them to look back at him. “No one is going.” He glared at them and then suddenly the tension broke as a small rough sound sprung up causing Levy and Gajeel to look at each other and then down at the small exceed in surprise as he shook his head and kept chuckling and then stopped, smiling at them. “Humans are too much sometimes, but if you weren’t I wouldn’t be here right now.” His eyes shifted to Gajeel then who just gave him a questioning look as if he wasn’t sure just what he was referencing and why. “I understand just what you were trying to do, and I appreciate it a lot.” And he walked closer to Levy, who knelt down to get closer to his height, “But it doesn’t mean you have to force yourself…” he stopped when she opened her mouth to argue but he shook his head, “We’re nakama and it comes natural and I am sure you two rather be alone now more so since I also would like to be.” Levy sighed and smiled, her hand reaching up and patting his head.
“I’m sorry, Lily. We should have talked to you instead of trying to act like nothing happened.” She looked at Gajeel who then sighed as she glared harder.
“Yeah, Lil.”
It was such a strange moment to Panther Lily but he enjoyed it, feeling finally things were setting to a normal pace, or at least a new normal.
Natsu x Lucy commission for nightshade-ave! Thank you so much for commissioning me! I hope I did this justice for you haha.

Title: Strange
Pairing: Natsu x Lucy from Fairy Tail
Word count: 1,179
For: nightshade-ave
Summary: Natsu was acting strange
Natsu was acting strange.
Well stranger to say the least, but it was something that Lucy just couldn’t ignore or put off of him just being himself or something that would pass. Since now this ‘strangeness’ that Natsu was doing involved her specifically.
Lucy was an affectionate person, as well as Natsu at times. So bumping hands or into each other was nervous and she never thought of it differently, or if she sat too close to him and vice versa with legs touching, or him touching her shoulders, or his chin on it as he tried to see what she was reading. Even his head in her lap after a particularly bumpy carriage ride wasn’t very uncommon at all and Lucy never thought twice about it at times (he even once covered her breasts with his own hands so really at this point Lucy never had to analyze just why he touched her the way he touched her).
Until now that was.
His hands would linger slightly more on her shoulder or waist, or how his gripe would tighten and push her closer to him when around others sometimes. Lucy tried to push it out of her mind, he was just being weird and if there one thing she knew being weird and doing random things like that out of nowhere went hand in hand with Natsu. But she knew that this was different, his stares on her lingered, she could feel it burn in her skin.
Or how once when he thought she was asleep he would touch her hand; holding it in his own but even time she woke up they would be separated and she wondered if she dreamed it.
But Lucy ignored it, confused really by it all and wondering if she was just overthinking it, since Natsu was still Natsu and it felt such like a rare occurrence at times, maybe just her own desires being pushed onto him. That was the thought of course, until his face was inches from her feeling his hot breath on her skin and everything seemed to not exist as it all concentrated onto him, the inches between their bodies, her chest against his and her heart pounding into her ears.
And then he was gone and Lucy had enough.
“What were you doing?” she finally breathed out, they were at her apartment going over details for their next job. Natsu just looked at her, his expression obviously uncomfortable that she had woken up from falling asleep against her bed. “Natsu…” she said again, brows furring as she stared at him.
“Nothing Luce!” the expression was gone and his ‘normal’ one there, large grin as he laughed, “I was just trying to wake you up. Hope you’re not thinking against weird.”
It was one of those times she wished Happy was here instead of on a job with Wendy and Charle; he could and would break up the tension and everything would go back to normal. And Maybe Lucy would be able to ignore this a while longer.
But now that was impossible.
“You’re the one being weird” she folded her arms around herself, she hated fights especially with Natsu but she was tired of him being weird with her, tired of getting the wrong messages and tired of being treated like she was stupid. Maybe in the beginning she was oblivious but now it was too much, she had to know.
Had too.
“Luce you’re the one acting weird” he looked away then, obviously annoyed or something but Lucy couldn’t see his face clearly now. “let’s forget it okay? I was just playin’ a joke.”
“Look at me then!” she moved closer to him, on her hands and knees in front of him as he sat on the floor in front of her as well. “I know you don’t think of me as a ‘woman’ Natsu, honestly if I didn’t know better I think you wouldn’t even know it but!” she spoke her hand moving up and a finger point up in the motion to quiet when he turned to her then, about to interrupt her. Lucy moved to sit on her knees, hands on her lap. “Sometimes Natsu you touched me, longer than someone who was just a friend would be and look at me. Even at times you don’t want to be around me and then other times you’re clingy and will pull me closer if I’m talking to a guy.” Her mouth tightened then and she saw him with an expression she couldn’t pin exactly. “If I didn’t know better I would think you liked me” she laughed; and Natsu mumbled something but she continued, “but even so tell me what’s wrong?”
It seemed obvious as she spoke it but she ignored it, either because she wanted too or had too she just ignored it as she waited for him to speak. Maybe it was a ‘dragon’ thing? Or maybe it was something Natsu always did and it was Lucy being too noticeable after all that had happened and taking it the wrong way; but she had to know.
“I said I do.” He muttered again this time staring at her straight in the face, his cheeks red and brown eyes narrowed at her, a serious expression that she only saw during his fights.
Lucy blinked, eyes widening and then she started to blink rapidly, “I do?” she repeated from him leaning in closer, “I do…what?”
“Like you.” Hs voice was rough as he moved closer to her then.
“What do you mean by ‘like’ because when I said that I meant—“and she was cut off then by his lips against hers; it wasn’t an ideal first kiss, nothing like in the books she read. It was hard and his lips were cracked and she felt the tips of his fangs on her lips and their noses bumped into each other and then he pulled back after what seemed too long and too short of a time, not even noticing how his hand was around her wrist. “Oh”
“Yeah”
It went quiet between them and Natsu didn’t remove his hand but Lucy didn’t pull away either as she looked down. It was strange for him to be so quiet and she couldn’t help but start to laugh a little. Natsu furrowed his brows giving her a look but it didn’t last long as he started to join in as well.
During that Lucy moved forward hugging him, feeling him stiffen under her, his skin warm and heart pounding in a hectic way causing her to smile too, since Natsu could get nervous as well.
“Well I like you too.” She said, not pulling away, enjoying the feeling of his heavy breathing slowing and body cooling down as his arms wrapped around her as well. She buried her face into his neck, taking in his scent, Natsu was strange at times but she didn’t mind that at all, since his arms were warm and strong as well as just for her only now.
Yato x Hiyori from Noragami for @manu-chann! Thank you so much for commissioning me! I hope I did this justice for you.

Title: Definition
Pairing: Yato x Hiyori from Noragami
Word count: 601
For: @manu-chann
Summary: Home had become such a complicated word for Hiyori now.
‘Home’ was a concept that Hiyori was very familiar with, she came from a loving, well to do home. A mother and father that loved each other and loved her very much (she only really realized how much when she started to get “fainting spells’ of hers) and an older brother who did as well. So to Hiyori the concept was familiar, nostalgic at times.
A privilege she learned later on when she became closer to Yukine and Yato, to the point it made her feel guilt and shame when Yukine would bring it up, which along with their own stupidity and ignorance lead to their near deaths. It was then, holding both of their warm and sweaty bodies against her own, to hear them breathe and the weight of them against her made her realize just what that word was also beginning to mean.
Home wasn’t just her mother and father laughing, smiling and sitting at the table with her and asking about her day, giving her money and being at the hospital when she woke up, holding her hand and crying. Home wasn’t just the warmth of a bed and food, which of course Hiyori knew it was a lot of that took something she took for granted; home was also sitting quietly together studying, or helping Kofuku and Daiki with the shop, or running around with Yato.
Home was something else entirely for her now.
Home was the touch of his hands on her, touches that lasted much longer than they should have.
Home was when he looked at her, his cheeks tinging red with his smile after he said something stupid or ridiculous or how he laughed or argued back when Yukine called him out on it, or Hiyori herself.
Home was when he looked at her when Yato thought she wasn’t looking, a look very different than the ones she was used too that it made her skin tingle. Causing her hand to move and touch the back of her neck for a reason she didn’t understand or how her body would heat up. It was just Yato then why…? Especially after the incident at the amusement park in both cases, the crackly feel of his lips on her hand, the sweaty feel of his hands and the burst of color and sound around them dull down into nothing as he spoke.
It was confusing, to say the least, how her mind was bombarded with the thoughts and memories either on their own or her making herself to remember. To make it sink into her brain, her body of everything that was said, of every touch and word he gave her.
Home was never forgetting the other.
Home was the look he gave her when she handed him that shrine, the touch of his fingers against her bandaged ones and how tight her chest felt as she watched him, the strong cocky god that only charged 500 yen for any kind of wish crying in front of her.
Home was the look he gave her and the crack of his voice and how he held that crude, small, baldy made shrine against him like it was the whole world.
It was how her heart pounded as she repeated once again that she would never leave his side, or ever forget him. That they, Yato and Yukine, were also her home now and nothing would change that, not even how her skin burned later on when he touched her or smiled or how confused she became.
The homeless God wasn’t the only one finally finding his place.
