Summary: When being followed by a weirdo, you run into your sister’s boyfriend, AKA your sworn enemy, and pretend that he’s yours to scare the creep away. The scary part is that it starts to make you feel other things than hatred.
A/N: 2006 Edge bc I love Rated-RKO. Hope You Enjoy!
“Hey guys, look at Y/n!” You heard Randy call out.
“Going home alone again, I see? You must be real lonely!” You heard a familiar blonde’s voice.
“Probably because no man wants her.” Your sister, Lita added.
You looked over with a scowl. “Oh, suck ass Edge!”
Randy laughed while smacking his friend's shoulder. You completely ignored him and went after Edge. He’s honestly not surprised, considering you two hate each other’s guts for whatever reason.
It probably has to do with Edge making your sister turn on you. After they got together your relationship went downhill. She refuses to talk with “losers” like you, and even went as far as attacking you. It was so bad that Trish had to come out and save you, and that never happens.
“Only if it’s Lita’s!” He commented before grabbing her face and kissing it.
You ignored their laughs and the kissing noises while continuing to walk out the arena, the pitch black sky taking over your vision. Unfortunately, no Ubers were willing to come out and get you so you had no choice but to walk.
You took a right, then a left. Another left, and one more. When you made that 3rd left and saw a dark shadow behind you, your breath hitched.
What seems to be the figure of a man stayed on your heels. Every turn you took, he was there with you.
Your eyes were screaming as they adjusted to the dark, but fought to give you that vision for someone. Anyone.
As you turned around the corner, the sight of a man caught your attention, your nerves letting up a little. You practically ran to him as you slipped right beside him, as if you two knew each other.
“There you are, babe! I thought I saw you walk down here!” You spoke loudly, so the creep could take a hint.
You looked at the stranger and your eyes widened more than they were when you noticed you were being followed.
Out of all the people in the world, you just had to run into Edge.
“Babe? I didn’t know you felt—” You cut him off without saying words by grabbing his hand and squeezing it hard.
It was a warning.
“Just play along. I’m being followed.” You whispered.
You saw him turn his head slightly, his muscles tightening and expression becoming serious.
You were surprised that his teasing stopped, but instead, his grip on you became more protective, his arm wrapping around your shoulder and pulling you into his side.
“Yeah, I was gonna come back for you, but I wanted to get some dinner first.” He spoke, playing along with your story.
You gulped, body stiffening at his touch. You’ve never felt more worked up, which is crazy to say since you're literally being followed at 11PM!
He noticed, his hand running up and down your arm. “You okay? You seem tense.”
You didn’t speak for a second, noticing genuine concern in his voice. “Y-Yeah, I’m fine, just a little cold.” You admitted.
With quick thinking, he pulled you into a random restaurant and stood in front of a table. He began taking off his jacket, confusion taking over your face. “Just take it, the guy’s looking.”
He gently wrapped it around your shoulders, the smell of his cologne suffocating your nose. Believe it or not, it was sort of comforting in a way.
“Okay, he’s gone now.”
You closed your eyes and let out a sigh of relief. “Thank god.”
You opened them to see him staring at you intently. “Um, and thank you. You didn’t have to do that.”
“Yeah, it was no problem.” He awkwardly spoke back.
Silence took over between the two of you, but it was interrupted when you cleared your throat. “Well, here’s your jacket and I’ll see ya next week!”
You sped walked out the door, but Edge was right behind you. “Where are you going?”
“To the hotel?”
He shook his head. “I’m coming too.”
You scoffed with a laugh. “Why? You still feel bad that I’m going home alone because no boys want me?” You asked, ready for the teasing to come.
“No, so you don’t get followed again.”
As you both walked, you couldn't help, but feel something different. For once, it wasn’t annoyance, but a fluttery feeling?
