Jax was singled out and abused by the drill sergeant in charge of his squads cohort. It was bad enough that Jax refuses to think about Kamino as a whole most of the time. Jax tries play off what he went through as something all clones remember. "Oh yeah we all had that drill sergeant who'd turn up the power on their shockers" "yeah we all had the drill sergeant that did X" and sometimes that was true. Sometimes.
One day Jax is trying to excuse or justify another abusive thing his sergeant did and Edger literally has to stop him and look him in the eye and say that wasn't normal. It wasn't something everyone dealt with, it was just Jax. It was just him.
