      Even the possibility of taking Jhin down with him is not worth sacrificing himself.

     Nothing is. No, he will wait until the moment is right and Jhin perfectly placed for imprisonment and worse. For now, Zed rises to Jhin’s bait, if only for long enough to ensure Jhin understands just how vast the abyss of Zed’s infinite loathing is. “The knife in my hand would have gone to your throat if not for a foolish master, your head tossed to the city crowds so that they knew they were finally free from your horrific crimes.”

     He bites back a breath, steadies his hand and tries not to risk a strike at Jhin’s throat. 

     “I was stopped. Next time, I will not be, and next time, you will not be spared from experiencing a suffering far, far worse than the mercy of a quick death I once planned.”
